I took my disabled child to the park as he likes animals. We parked in a disabled bay and entered the park from the front and visited a few animals and birds. We then tried to go round to see the horses but there was no way through from the inside. We came back to the car park and tried to go in from the restricted entrance on the right hand side but the entrance was too narrow. We tried the left hand side entrance but the footpath was too narrow. We push the chair on the road at risk from passing cars. We went part way around only to realise that we would have to come all the way back as there was no exit on the other side. We then decided to get in our car and leave shocked and disappointed at the lack of consideration for disabled wheelchair bound children. My son is also visually impaired and there are no facilities for close proximity interactions with any animals at this park; most of the animals are far away. I hope someone in the organisation is looking to make the park more inclusive.

This park has loads to offer and it pathways have been updated making it a far more pleasant walk. The park stetches out over 300 acres of land. The end near Marston Green train station has the end of the airport runway. There are plenty of benches for a picnic and woodland for kids to play in. You can also access the Coventry Road from here and there is a Harvester Pub if you fancy a quick drink or some food. The other end of the park is a children's play area which has recently been refurbished and a small farm park. The farm has a number of animals (its closed at the moment due to government restrictions) it has toilets and a cafe onsite. My daughter is in secondary school now and still loves a visit to the farm. The park sometimes holds Fun days when they run shows and have stalls but this hasn't happened in a few years. The car park has also recently been updated so there is ample parking for visitors.

A really nice park to visit. Overall it has good wheelchair access but not into the playground unfortunately. The best wheelchair entrance is at the far side of the car park with a small ramp. The farm has chickens, ducks, turkeys, pigs, cows, donkeys, ponies and sheep. ( Only assistance/ guide dogs allowed into the gated farm section). Theres a big fenced paddock where the larger animals go out to graze so if you have your dog you can still see some of the animals when they are out. There’s a little stream running through the park which my dog loves to jump in to cool off. It’s a decent walk from the main car park up to watch the planes plus it’s fully wheelchair accessible via decent paths through the park. You can park outside other entrances but not all are wheelchair accessible. There are benches to relax on while you watch the airport runway although it can get quite busy up there at times.

Beautiful huge park, fantastic viewing area for Birmingham airport, literally at the end of the runway where the planes are taking off soaring just a few hundred feet above your head! There's a stream runs through the middle with an abundance of wildlife and at the far end a small children's farm, with pigs, cattle, donkeys and horses to name but a few. There's a children's play area, a tea room, selling lovely cakes, cookies, hot and cold food and drinks, ice creams etc Best of all parking is free, the farm is free too! We spent a lovely four hours wandering around but is definitely worth a day out to explore the wooded paths that lead off in all directions. Excellent!

The tea rooms are a welcome resting place for anyone visiting the country park. The ladies who run are always helpful. Lots of seating outside but not much room inside during bad weather. Rather strangely, one of our group for medical reasons, can only drink milk and she was told that they cannot serve her this most basic commodity. It took the shine off the visit. So one less star. But we will be returning and taking our own milk for her! The toilets are clean and the few domesticated animals here are interesting. I have never seen hens such as these before. All in all a small but interesting visit to the park. It is very popular.

Sheldon Country Park is a Hidden Gem for Plane Spotters. This Park is a fantastic spot for a relaxing day out, especially if you're a plane enthusiast like me. The park offers an incredible view of Birmingham Airport’s runway, where you can watch planes take off and land up close – an absolute treat for aviation fans and families alike. The park itself is well-maintained, with plenty of open space for picnics, walks, or just sitting back and enjoying the view. The combination of natural beauty and the excitement of watching planes makes this place truly unique. And we also got to see a rainbow there. 😍
