My partner and I just had date night here tonight and wow!!!! We live down the street, I like to stay local as I have agoraphobia and crowds make me panic, this place was perfect and I felt very at ease. Firstly I must say that I’m quite a picky eater. I had the spinach and ricotta ravioli and it exceeded my expectations, the cheese was creamy and not dry as some ricotta can taste, the pasta tasted fresh too, the sauce was amazing, I don’t like a lot of sauce on my food but this was amazing and a great portion size. My partner had the pollo royale and it looked beautiful, he loved it, I tried some of the sauce on a chip and it was delicious, I’m not a big fan of white wine sauces generally but this is one i would enjoy. We shared some extra chips and a side of halloumi and both were great, I’m fussy with chips, i like them crispy usually, these are fluffy but a light crispiness on the outside, very nice, i have a weakness for halloumi and eat it a lot, the halloumi was cooked in a sauce which was sweet and a bit sticky, I don’t know what it was but we both really liked it. Puddings, I had the tiramisu and my partner had the chocolate fudge cake, both desserts were fresh and oh my god, another weakness of mine is tiramisu, but some places get it wrong, they either overdo or underdo the coffee, but here it was spot on, you could get a spoon full with each layer, but you can taste the individual layers all together which is perfect, the chocolate fudge cake was rich and moist but without being sickly as many cakes like this can be. We both also had pina coladas which were very well made, a thumbs up from my partner who makes cocktails all day at work. The staff were wonderful, welcoming and attentive but without feeling like you were being hovered over, we had as much time as we needed and were never rushed. The atmosphere and decor was very warm and cosy feeling.
We 100% will be back here in the near future, the best restaurant in the area, thank you so much for a...
Read moreI love tradita. 5 minutes from my house, authentic Mediterranean recipes and the vibe is relaxing comfortable and homely. The food is always bursting with flavour, plenty of choice for everyone and always served piping hot and fresh. The tzatziki is bursting with authentic Greek flavours and takes you to the streets of Santorini. The meat is always tender and marinated to perfection and it’s a hidden gem to have such a wide range of food at your doorstep. No where else around the area offers this type of food to such a high standard. I visited today for my birthday and was welcomed warmly and accommodated for 2 hours with delicious food and great drinks for a reasonable price. The only thing that disappointed me was I ordered a seafood spaghetti. On the menu it stated it contained mussels prawns and clams. I received the dish and was enjoying it when I noticed mini octopus’s and calamari rings in the dish. The taste and flavour was great but an octopus is one of my favourite animals and I would never wish to eat one intentionally so when I noticed them in my dish I was immediately put off. The prawns and muscles and pasta was incredible I just wish it was started in the menu it contained octopus as although the dish was extremely enjoyable, I couldn’t carry on eating incase a stray tentacle was consumed. Despite this I would still return and would encourage others to visit, just ask and be aware of what’s in a dish before you order. Thank you for a wonderful birthday great atmosphere, great quality for price, outstanding food and flavours and always great...
Read moreA surprise birthday gathering with friends and family. I did as to go to Istambul on the Coventry Road, but come here instead, which I am very glad.
A small Armenian family run resturant wtih a "mediaterian" theme, however the menu was more Italan with pasta, pizza and calzone's mainly on the menu (more on that later).
We had both the mixed sharing platters (vegetable and fish) and I could have eaten both on their own! Vegetables were seasoned well and the fish was cooked well. Normal don't like either, but these dishes were very tasty.
I had the Calzone and it was BIG (see pictures), but not just big, but full of flavour. The pasty was soft not dry. Usually you put the knife in a Calzone it would collapse a bit, but not this one.
The meat, the cheese... Hmmm. Definately one of the best Calzone's I had in a while. Only finished half and took the other half home (tasted even better the next day).
However the wife's Lamb and my brother-in-law's mixed grill was a bit over done (massive dishes by the way), which was a bit of a shamr.
The boy had Carbonara and to this day "it's the best he's ever had..."
Overall a lovely evening with a wonderful family atmosphere. Parking available outside and across the road plus onsite wifi...
