⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Unforgettable Birthday & Father's Day Celebration at Mount Tavern Sheldon!

We chose Mount Tavern Sheldon to celebrate a double special occasion—my twins’ 16th birthday and Father’s Day—and it turned out to be the best decision we could’ve made!

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was buzzing with energy, yet still warm and welcoming. The staff were absolutely incredible—friendly, attentive, and genuinely invested in making the evening special.

Let’s talk about the food—because WOW. The mixed grill was simply phenomenal—perfectly cooked, served piping hot on a sizzling plate, and packed with rich, smoky flavor. The tikka sauce was velvety and bursting with spice in all the right ways. And the chilli chips? A fiery, crispy, addictive dream!

But what truly made the night unforgettable was the personal touch. Cheryl and Toni not only brought out the cake with huge smiles, they sang Happy Birthday and made the twins feel like absolute VIPs. It was heartfelt, genuine, and so appreciated.

Mount Tavern Sheldon delivered not just a meal, but a fantastic experience—delicious food, amazing service, and a lively atmosphere all rolled into one. If you're looking for somewhere to celebrate, connect with family, or just enjoy seriously good food… this is the place.

We’ll definitely be back—and we’ll be...

was recommended to go by some friends of ours and popped up there on a Monday night. The pub was very quiet and there was 3-4 staff available. Anyway, food came and the Indian girl serving didn't have a clue what dish was what, the onion bhaji was disgusting and uneaten. The currys weren't to bad but nothing to write home about. Chips were frozen and undercooked. Service wise, we ordered dessert and they hadn't cleared the table whilst they were bringing over desserts. We had to ask to clear them or move tables. A couple were eating across the room from us and they left probably 45 minutes before anyone cleared there table. Look it wasn't terrible and it's a great idea but it's not for me I'm afraid and I won't be going again. There are far more better eating places than this. Good luck with it though. Thank you

Update: our friends convinced us to go again so we tried it and have to say it was much better than the first time. I still don't think it's quite as good as other local places but whatever went wrong the first time we went, it improved 200% the second time. Only thing I'll say, the Buttered Chicken is very bland and frankly horrible. Other than that, the Pathia I had was nice, naan bread were delicious and they do a great selection of beers at the bar. Staff were great, food was quick. Much better...

The Mount Tavern in Sheldon is everything you want from a proper local pub: warm, welcoming, and with a genuine sense of community. It’s the kind of place where you immediately feel comfortable, whether you’re popping in for a quick pint or settling in for an evening with friends.

What really stands out at The Mount is its friendly atmosphere. The staff are always attentive and genuinely seem to enjoy what they do, making every visitor feel like a regular. It’s a proper hub for the local area, and you can sense the camaraderie amongst patrons.

For those who enjoy a flutter, the pub often has a good buzz around live sports, and there are typically plenty of screens to catch the game on. It offers a classic pub experience, often with a good selection of drinks available at the bar, including well-kept beers and ciders.

While it's not a fine dining establishment, The Mount Tavern often provides solid, honest pub grub that hits the spot perfectly. Think classic dishes done well – ideal for a casual meal after work or on the weekend.

If you're in Sheldon and looking for a no-frills, traditional pub with a great atmosphere and friendly faces, The Mount Tavern is definitely worth a visit. It's a reliable spot for a good drink and a bit of local cheer. Highly recommended for a true taste of local...

Not our first time here but it’s high time this places deserved a review. Upon arriving as always Toni the manageress was (as always) so welcoming. We stayed for a few drinks before we ordered our food. The atmosphere is friendly and everywhere is spotless including the toilets. Beers on draught include a variety from Cobra to Madri and Thatchers for those cider drinkers. We ordered the Large Mixed grill having smelt and seen the food coming out of the kitchen along with Masala Chips and a side of medium spiced curry sauce. What can I say?? It was amazing, so fresh, piping hot and the taste was to die for. This establishment is a mixture of your traditional English pub with an Indian twist to the food making it the “one” place to go to for a night out. Large screens for any major sporting event and throughout the day your old school MTV (yes if you’re old enough to remember when this was THE music channel). All in all such a pleasant visit on a night out in Sheldon, Birmingham. Ample parking and local public transport nearby for those staying near to places such as the NEC. Give it a try you won’t be disappointed.

Cheryl always makes me and my family feel welcome, there is nothing that is to much trouble for her. for mothers day for my wife and daughter inlaw she organised the flowers for me, had them delivered to the tavern before we got there put them in the office for me, then brought them out when the time was right. The same when we have a birthday meal, again sorted the flowers for me. The food was excellent as always eat in or take away, Cheryl is a credit to the tavern. Well done Cherly.

Recently had a take away from this place, the food was okay. I only ordered a mixed grill with garlic naan and have to say the food arrived fresh and hot. However the quality is so so, it was very greasy and oily for a mixed grill which you don’t expect. As a result of oily dish this caused me a few issues. In general it was okay, I’m going to go to the restaurant to try it out properly! One suggestion is please use sustainable containers, plastic is no good!
