Lots of parking is available at the North Promenade close to the main pier. On bank holidays, with great weather, this parking can be full. So go a bit sooner to find space. Be there before 13.30. You can pay the parking space with a debit bank card or coins. Before you settle on the beach, you may be hungry? If so, the better chippy is Seafarers across the road. It's a blue sign with white letters. I mean you get more chips for less money, based on my experience with the chippy in the pier. Although the pier chippy is more convenient. It's by the pier entrance. This is free and of only interest for kids. If your keen on a ice cream, there are two superb Ice cream kiosk vendors on the sea front. I prefer the kiosk on its own on the sea front as it has more choice. Further along, in the sea front is a public indoor swimming pool that's great fun too. There's a public loo here by the band stand. Some amateur musician's can play here when it's fine weather. Around this area, there are hot food vendors. One of these is built using an old railway carriages. Another is a carvery. I prefer the railway carriages for meals and value. Further along the sea front, you can hire wooden beach huts, which have space for 6 people, mains electricity, tea and coffee, microwave, fridge, heater, seating and tables, plates and cutlery, washing dishes space for the day. I guess you need to buy and bring your own food preferences with you. I've observed that a major reason to hire one seems to be for family celebrations of say, birthdays at weekends and week times in season. The details are online. To find links Google 'St. Anne's beach huts'. There are toilets behind the front and by the bandstand. When the weather is good it's very stimulating to walk on the front. This includes in winter time too! The beach itself is huge and very flat, so don't worry about the tide coming after you. It can be a mile from the sea front to paddling in the sea. The people congregate at less than a pier length out from the front. If when your on your beach, you lose your bearings when you walk, and you will eventually walk in a big elliptical shape and go back to where you started from. This is due to your stride length being different on each leg. This is why soldiers march to train their walking!

If after your beach fun, your keen to look at the shops, there are many small ones nearby across the road. In the town I recommend the B&M, and W. H. Smiths, the magazine and book shop. And Holland and Barrett for health foods. Also Greggs for foods such as pasties. Boots and Superdrug stores are big In this area for bargain and quality buys. You will find around here a public loo. If you require things for pet dog or cat, there is a lovely pet shop, Pets Unleashed, further up on the main road and pass Greggs around the corner on the 2nd right. There are, in and around the side streets, several exotic restaurants, each specialising in the foods from different countries scattered around the area. But can...

Visited 11/07/2022, parked in the Fairhaven Road Car Park, park in the non red marked bays (for use at the beach cafe customers only).

The beach is signposted well from the car park and then a little bit of fine, soft grainy sand before going onto the main more solid sand. There it’s lots of space for everyone, would recommend some sort of sun shade/cover especially for days like when we came where the temp was 27oC, and if you can take a cooler box with lots of drinks as prices are quite steep in the locality (unless you nip to the B&M bargains nearby if you have the time).

The tide was out when we arrived after lunch and we walked 0.75km toward the sea and reached some wetter/puddle sand area and realised the sea was still a fair way off at this time so didn’t go on but if your planning to walk to the sea then be prepared for a fair walk and time to do so, also make sure you have a sun brolly/cap/hat/sun cream etc to keep the lovely sun from turning you to a crisp. Bins provided near the entrance to the beach for rubbish which is great to help you keep the area clean/tidy/safe for everyone....

Bought some Donuts yesterday from the corner icecream shop facing the beach. We paid £5.50 for the biscoff ones. When the man who works there gave them to me. He looked me in the eyes and had the most guilty look on his face. To start with the biscoff sauce was like water and tasteless, then secondly the donut mix was off!!! They tasted like vinegar.!!! As a person who already works with donuts, pancakes and waffles. I know that batter mix tastes like vinegar when it's off!! After it's gone past it's 5-7 days of being made! Because staff have even tried having it before throwing it away so it's not wasted. And it's awful. My kids were eating these donuts before I even tasted one and instantly chucked them in the bin! This guy obviously cares more about putting a fiver into his business than poisoning kids with out of date mixtures! Even though it's costs barely anything to make a fresh mixture!!!! And I just know he knew, from the look on his face when he passed them to me!! Won't be using this icecream shop again.. they clearly don't care what they're giving people!!!!

Thanks for...
