Went for a stroll around this park on Sunday 28th of April 2019 to walk off our Sunday roast.we parked in the Olympiad leisure car park which was free on this day, then it is just a short walk either down the steps or along the road that leads into the park. Its quite a nice walk along the pathway which follows the River Avon as it winds it’s way out of the Chippenham Town Centre, there is plenty of wildlife to be seen on and around the river banks. The walk takes you around the pitch and put 9 hole golf course with crazy golf and cafe.If you want you can walk or cycle for miles as the pathway carries on to The town of Calne, the route we took was along the river then in a circle back to where the entrance to the cafe and golf course is.It was a very nice walk and suitable for everyone as the pathways are level and easy going. This place is well...

Monkton Park is an open park with a large unobstructed grass area perfect for recreation. There are small areas of trees on the edge of the open area and along the river bank. The river forms the lower boundary of the park. There is a fenced children's play area for younger children and basketball/football court area with high fencing for older teens. The park is very close to the town centre - 5 min walk. The Olympiad leisure centre is at one end, a pitch & putt golf course the other. I love this park. It's a relaxing beautiful place to spend you time with different parts giving different experiences. A simple place that's a under...

An excellent large central town park, with an exciting incline. I'd give it a few weeks to dry out, as the freak floods at the start of December 2024 submerged the whole of the flat bit, to the point of colonising it with swans. It's got an adjoing golf course, mini/crazy golf, woodland, lots of paths and view, squirrels, picnic tables, all sorts of bird life. Several entrances from all angles, and plenty of parking. Adjoins the leisure centre. Not to be confused with the nearby council offices of...

Nice open space beside the river with a playpark. A enjoyable place to walk through or stop for a rest. Great for taking kids for picnic and to feed the ducks from the feeding area just across the park to the main Street on the bridge there is a designated feeding the. The area seemed well looked after and kepd tidy it's worth a visit as it leads across a bridge to another park to make your walk longer if you wanted to or if one park is to buisy you can cross over to the other.

Went to the civil war reenactment today which was a fun day out with cannons and musket firing and a nice encampment with tents featuring different parts of life in the 17th century. Being right next to the town centre it was easy to nip for a coffee and a bite to eat, in fact as we were sat in the cafe they marched up the street to the beat of the drum! Wonderful event well worth the trip.
