Paid a visit to the museum which is set on the bank of the river Avon that runs through the town,it is situated above the library in Bridge Street overlooking the short stay car park.even though it is only a small place it has a lot on display, dating back to Roman times with a lot of artefacts on show,it also has a complete old fashioned chemist with all the original bottles and potions, even the original creaky floorboards are in place,it is amazing to see something like this so well preserved. It is free to enter and well worth a look around when visiting the town.

A small but thoughfully laid out local museum with very interesting exhibits (mining for mushrooms, history of rubber industry, complete chemist's shop). Can get a lift to the upstairs location above the library. Free but donations accepted. Parking outside (pay). Helpful volunteers on duty.

This is a fascinating museum. It shares a building with a library so it's compact but it's full of interesting things. For me, the most interesting bit was a re-creation of an old chemist shop.
