Had been meaning to go here for sometime now and finally had an excuse, we were hungry. Just kidding, anniversary, wanted somewhere local and nice and this lovely little Italian restaurant won. Now we happened to go this evening 25th Aug. The hottest weekend of the summer. Almost too hot to go. Luckily we booked an early table, 6pm and just a few other customers, we were shown upstairs which we were amazed just how large and how lovely the place looked. Felt much bigger inside. We had a couple of starters, mains and desserts of which we shared. Have to say all the dishes were lovely and not too filling, so we didn't feel like a couple of fatties even if we did waddle out the door. After a meal at a pub I can never eat a dessert without feeling like I'm going to explode. Here this was thankfully not the case, and good thing too because the desserts were so nice. The thing we both agreed on the cheesecake was something else. The cream so light and velvety. The staff were really friendly, welcoming and attentive. Would recommend to anyone passing by. The only thing the other half wanted was to be able to buy an entire cheesecake, I assumed to let her friends or family try, but upon asking she wants it...
Read moreAbsolutely very disappointed and expensive experience. We went on Friday 14 of April at 5pm, high expectations after reading the reviews. We order bruschetta and mussels for starters, bruschetta came soggy not crunchy-slice of bread for £8 ,was pre made earlier most likely, and mussels meat was very small, portion as well. My daughter had lasagna, was alright but not worth the price, waiter won’t tell you that portion is for adult and you paying full price instead half portion and half price. For main I had monkfish and it was nice but baby portion, my husband get burnt steak and when I’ve complained to waiter said it’s from grill and it should looked like that!!! After all we get apologies and new made steak, poor quality food as a steak meal for £29. I fed up with rubbish restaurants, that’s why I’m going out like once a year as I cook better at home and cooking is my passion. Poor quality food and way overpriced, someone who have taste and experience would know the difference. I left there nearly £121 and at home I could have luxury dinner for that money with Moët to drink, and there we had just two small...
Read moreCame here for our first time this evening for my partners birthday and what an amazing place it was. The online booking form was nice and easy place to state if it was for an occasion or not. Outside was very unassuming and quant but once you stepped through the door the interior was so cozy and welcoming. She had the calzone pizza (which they did as a flat for her) and also the Nduja pasta. The pasta was possibly the nicest pasta I've had from an Italian in the UK and the pizza was so good my partners eyes lit up after the first bite. For dessert we had the tiramisu to share. It came out with a lovely subtle happy birthday on it to mark the occasion and one of the lovely waiting staff gave her a little card also. The efforts they made for her birthday was subtle but appreciated. As a couple we don't like a massive fuss over occasions so this was perfect for us.
Overall really lovely thoughtful service and delicious food. The staff were fantastic, friendly and well dressed. Will DEFINITELY be returning soon for...
