We did the Maylan escape room as a party of 6 (slightly tipsy) adults on Sunday 3rd March. It is a 4-room game and we managed to escape in 55mins.
The room/building is a little run down, and in need of a bit of TLC. During our game, 2 of the features did not function properly - which meant that we were stuck on certain bits for longer than we needed to be and wasted time trying to get them to work. We required clues to address this, and the staff realised it was an electronics problem and not us missing something, and they explained and allowed us to move on. There were also some issues with magnets (I won't give spoilers) which left us confused as to whether or not we had completed the section and could move on - which required the staff to confirm.
The room was quite dark with low ceilings, which meant I (as a 6ft 1 man) hit my head a few times, but it wasn't uncomfortable.
Overall, the staff were energetic and friendly, and the game was good - a well-balanced mixture of dexterity/problem solving. There was real team-building/communication aspects, and a handful of silly features (again, I won't give spoilers). The story/plot was good, and I imagine the game would have flowed well if it had functioned as expected. It was a shame that two of the features did not function as expected and it ran down the clock and left us confused, despite the clues.
Staff/Service: 5 ⭐️ Game/Plot: 4 ⭐️ Functionality: 3 ⭐️ (though we are unsure if we just had bad luck) Recommend: ✅
That said, we reached out to LHEG and they gave us a FULL REFUND of £180 which we were not expecting/hadn't asked for.
We really appreciated and respected that.
We will 100% be back to give another game a go with this saving. Thank you. See you soon.

Read moreI’ve been to this escape room twice now and did Egyptian tomb and Secret Agent. Out of the two Secret Agent is definatly my favourite. The room was really well put together with lots of creative features and props. The Secret Agent challenges were also all very unique and engaging. The staff are very friendly and enthusiastic. In the entrance there’s also lots of cool games to mess around with too. Secret agent also has multiple rooms and clues were available if you needed them. Some of the puzzles were tricky but others pretty straightforward. I had a great time here.
The Egyptian Tomb was also enjoyable with multiple rooms and good decorations. It got a bit hot though and I found a couple of the games unclear about whether we’d solved them or not. Saying that, it was my first escape room. During the room you also need to crouch which is something to be aware of. The games were fun though and there was many elements to each room. The only criticism I would have is that a couple times we asked for clues but it took a good few minutes to get a response. We still made it out okay but those minutes are precious...
Read moreI booked the Egyptian tomb escape room for today with my husband to celebrate my birthday tomorrow. I was super excited. We arrived at the requested time, 10 mins before, and knocked on the door because it was locked. Although someone was sitting inside behind the counter, no one came to the door. We then phoned which was ignored. I then knocked again and opened the Letter box and said we have a booking. By this time it was 5 mins before starting. A man with long curly hair then opened the door and yelled ‘I am fixing the room, I will let u in when it’s done’ and slammed the door in our faces. I was so gobsmacked I turned to my husband and said I was going to get a refund. When he opened the door again, I said to him that he was rude and I would not be doing the escape room and I wanted a refund. He yelled back that he was rude and yes he would give a refund. I don’t know whether we got this guy on a bad day but u do not speak to ur paying customers like that. Very very disappointed and upset. Do not recommend, esp if u encounter this rude...
