Wildlife Trust BCN - Trumpington Meadows — Attraction in Cambridge

Still in development. The Byron's Pool walk has been there for a long time so that hasn't changed much. The Trumpington Meadows area is quite nice, but will be much nicer in the years to come once it is more established, but it's good that this area is being managed. Unfortunately there's not a circular walk if you go across the footbridge over the M11 - you can't then follow it around and come back under the M11 by the river which is a shame (you have to come back the same way). The maps of the site are pretty bad too - could do with being bigger and more detailed, but could be something that is in development. The noise from the M11 is loud, but this might get better as the trees and shrubs grow. Definitely a work in progress, but good job ...

This is still a work in progress but it is worth a visit particularly because it runs parallel to the more mature and lovely Byron's Pool Local Nature Reserve. Trumpington Meadows is a large expanse of open land with a mixture of structured paths and grassy trails leading into themed areas containing outdoor seating and carved wooden sculptures. There is a largish pond which attracts typical water fowl like swans, moorhen, ducks etc. and pond insects like dragonfly. Other areas are dedicated to wild flowers and low nesting birds. Unfortunately, there is one irritating aspect, the loud motorway which runs along one edge. They have planted some shrubs to block the traffic noise but its not thick enough yet and having...

Let’s see if we can train zorro by following the guide. He is a good boy and we should help him to overcome this. Good to have a long and deep call.
