The worst starbucks I've ever been in. Inefficient, surly, slow staff who can't look you in the eye or even get the simple shout of a name correct when drinks are (eventually) ready. I saw a man buy a travel cup in front of me, and then the staff refused to let him use it as it had a piece of paper inside it. It took two members of staff to relay this information to the unfortunate man, even though it all happened a foot in front of the queue. Strangely enough, said piece of paper (sold with the travel cup in the same shop) was very easily removed by the customer but alas he still wasn't allowed to use his lovely new cup. In the meantime, two other members of staff stopped taking orders and making drinks to watch the drama unfold and then discuss it. In the same queue, two ladies immediately in front of me had their drinks given incorrectly in 'stay in' mugs when they ordered take away, this appeared to befuddle the staff as 10 minutes later when I left the ladies still hadn't had their drinks transferred to take out cups. Almost 36 hours later I wonder if they are still there....The awful service creates queues and delays both in store and in the drive-thru. Significant service improvement is needed focusing on the basics of customer service especially when spending £5 a drink. The staff should go to a truly busy city centre starbucks to learn the ropes - Quay St in Manchester would be my suggestion as those guys are brilliant and the polar opposite of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAppalling service from Starbucks Chorley A6: Zack (supervisor!) stated "I CAN'T MULTIPLY MYSELF" when challenged that my drink wasn't ready after 15 minutes. He had stickers galore stuck to his hands but couldn't tell me when my drink would be processed. Zack then walked off into the back instead of sorting my refund. Sir, If you can't deal with pressure and your interpersonal skills involve being rude to customers, you should not be in retail, never mind a supervisor. I have since been informed that the DRIVE THRU is king and the staff actually LOSE WAGES if they fall behind the window service. Look up at the screen behind the counter!!! So don't walk in as you'll be relegated to the bottom of the priority list and effectively ignored. Watch the staff, they run around for the drive thru customers. I am advised that its 5:1, 5 drive thru's to 1 walk in customer. I've asked around and this is not a one off performance from Starbucks A6 Chorley. One person described the staff as 'INEPT'. After I got another member of staff to go into the back and retrieve Zack, he finally appeared and silently refunded me.
Sorry is such a powerful word so...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCar Park was full despite the cafe having hardly anyone in. I suspect it may be being used as an overflow car park to the hospital as its free to park. Went inside and placed order and paid. Waited, waited, waited and waited some more and still no coffees or muffins. Only 2 cars in drive through so hardly busy for 3 members of staff. Learner driver at the drive through window and all 3 members of staff ran to the window to engage in conversation and laughing and joking whilst I stood still waiting for 2 coffee's and 2 muffins. In total it took 23 minutes for my first coffee and then another 5 minutes for our 2nd coffee. Despite asking for extra hot they were lukewarm at best. Then the member of staff couldn't remember us ordering muffins. After waiting a total of 28 minutes for our coffee's then they could be forgiven for forgetting especially as their learner driver friend distracted them all for a while. I did notice plenty of cars pull onto the car park and then leave as there was nowhere to park. Maybe this needs addressing along with staffs attention to detail when taking...
