I last visited the Royal Cambrian Academy a couple of years ago. I was delighted to find on this visit that the shop and reception area had been given a make over. Very professional looking. The three exhibitions that were showing contrasted, celebrated local art and were very interesting. I bought two pieces which I am very pleased with. Staff were friendly and professional. Whilst I was there I could see a class of young children undergoing some form of education in a side gallery, which is great to see. All in all a really pleasant and thought provoking visit. Practicing artists from throughout Wales form the membership and they are invited to exhibit at times collectively and also individually. It has two main gallery spaces a small one on the ground floor and a more expansive space upstairs. The members are a diverse group of artists and this is reflected in the varied interesting and exhibitions that are put on which change on a regular basis.
