Spice Safari Restaurant & Takeaway — Restaurant in Wales

Recently moved into the area and was told about this place by a neigbour. We had been before but it was well before it was taken over in November 2023 by the current owners. I telephoned mid day to book a table for that night (Saturday) and was surprised that the call was answered even though it was outside of the opening times. We were offered a choice of either 6pm or 8pm as the restaurant appears to have 'two sittings'. We opted for 6pm and told we had the table up to 8pm. We were advised that the restaurant was not licensed to serve alcohol and that we were welcome to bring our own drinks. When we arrived the place was 'at capacity'. We were shown to our table and I thought to myself that they were going to have their work cut out to deal with all the orders coupled to the fact that they were also taking takeaway orders. There was no cause for me to worry at all. Our order was taken by a delightful waitress called Renu making use of an iPad which was a first for me in an Indian restaurant (perhaps I'm not so use to new technology). The manager Iqbal made a point of introducing himself and took time to get to get to know us. Now for the important part of our review. The food we ordered was of the highest order. delicious and very well presented generous portions. I had chicken Tikka and my wife had Spice Safari Special Lamb dish. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. this coupled to the brilliant table service and the whole atmosphere of the place made it a wonderful dining experience. I don't know how they managed to meet the demand on the night but they did - I was amazed at how efficient it all was. We did take our own drinks (and glasses but there was no need for these as there was an ample supply). They also offer water for the table. This place will now be 'our local' and we will be sure to visit again probably on a regular basis. If you are in Conwy Town and fancy an Indian Meal then note my positive review and try this place. You will not be disappointed. If you are unable to dine in, they offer takeaway options including delivery options online. Thanks for a great evening and we look forward to visiting again soon...

The decoration of the restaurant is very beautiful. The behavior of the restaurant staff is very good. We went to this restaurant together with 7 friends. We booked a table earlier and booked for 8 o'clock. I order Tandoori Mix Grill my friend gives Chicken Tikka Shaslik Paneer Tikka Shaslik Chicken Tikka Masala Chicken Tikka Kurma Tandoori Chops Naan Garlic Naan Birani etc. I loved the tandoori chicken and the tandoori chop was very soft and very tasty. The shish kebab was also very interesting.My friend said that the chicken tikka shalik was very tasty. I did not order it, so my friend did not let me try it.And all my other friends shared their food with me Paneer Tikka Shaslik and it was very good. Chicken Tikka Masala Chicken Tikka Kurma I love it too. And one thing I forgot to mention was the garlic naan and the naan was very soft. I especially like their behavior Renu and Sanad are...

Absolutely awful place with owners who have an answer for everything (as you'll probably see when they respond to this review - have a look at other poor ones too!).

I'm genuinely baffled as to how this place has good reviews. We ordered a takeaway and were optimistic based on these. However the food was inedible. We paid over £50 and the quality was shocking. We immediately phoned to complain and returned some of the food.

The owner, supported by cocky bar staff, then argued with my partner for 40 minutes about the food and refused to refund us for all the food we returned. We ended up with a measley £13 back and no food to eat (apart from the mixed starter which we did eat - wouldn't recommend).

Avoid avoid avoid. Clearly the change of ownership isn't going well and more reviews like mine will follow. Looking forward to being accused of all sorts when this is seen and...
