Barbershop — Attraction in Crawley

I had another bad experience in this Barber shop yesterday. It was my turn for my hair to be cut, after waiting and the barber who was available to cut my hair, told me, "sorry I can't cut your hair, I have a booking". I said "ok".

But then 5 minutes later, he let someone else who was behind me in the waiting que In the shop, sit in his chair and happily cut this gentlemans hair, in front of me, who had not booked and who had walked in, just like me.

I was sitting there, wondering, without any explanation, despite asking him several times, as to why he randomly did not want to cut my hair. Like his friend by the window.

The lady barber who was in the shop also picked up on this strange and rude behaviour. This is the 2nd man In this shop that has chosen to do this. The man by the window I also experienced this on my previous review not long ago. I also had no explanation to that either.

I found both these experiences offensive and unacceptable, considering I felt this was mine and my son's local barbers. I would still like to know why? In the mean time, me or my son will not be returning to this establishment as we do not want to go through that unnecessary rejection again. All we want is to get out hair cut stress free without any of this strange behaviour from certain individuals working in this...

It really depends on the timing and who you get. I was dreading going again after the disaster I had last time due to my usual guy not being there, but to my surprise it went exactly how I wanted it to. My hair looks exactly how I wanted it in time for prom.

Had to edit this review from a 5 star to a 1 star. Despite my initial positive review, the barber I had my hair trimmed from no longer works there so as I sat down with another, the barber I sat with this time pointed out flaws in the overall haircut from the previous barber to other barbers next to them and they proceeded to mock and laugh at my hair. Wouldn't have cared much, but then he proceeded to cut my hair extremely short. Extremely unprofessional. This wasn't a one off either. 4 years ago, another barber here did the same.

Additionally, a few years ago, I sat down to have my hair cut. Told the dude to do a number 2 on the sides and a 6 on top. He put a number 2 attachment on his clippers and started shaving my head at which point I freaked out and asked what the hell he was doing, to which he replied "but that's what you wanted isn't it".

TLDR; A good chunk of these guys are unprofessional and I've been screwed over multiple times. Two decent barbers quit and now work at other places. Go to Naz Barbers in town...

Probably only the 4th or 5th time we've come here as we live in Redhill but I've never had a bad experience with them, it's my go to choice when we are in Crawley and a barbers is needed. We walked in around 4pm to no queue and Ben was able to fit my son in straight away and was friendly with a bit of football banter which son appreciates. £13 which is really reasonable for 13yr old and as you can see he's done a good job! My son has 4 cowlicks so a lot of barbers had struggled to style him? Never been a problem here and he's always happy with outcome so will ask for Ben...
