Wonderful old market town in the hart ❤ of the Peak District, good pubs, cafe and shopping, plenty of car parking on offer too, lunchtime is of course very busy, but either side of that much easier to get whatever you fancy, the river is splendid, take time to watch the wildlife on and in the river, I've never seen such large trout, both brown and rainbow just below the surface. My only gripe is the town would benefit from a bypass, as would many a market town, as there is loads of through traffic at Peak times, cloging up...

However, we had a wander round today, needed food, so found a decent little pastie shop, just what was needed on a cold day, and it was nice to see, even though we're in lock down, people were still queing for fish and chips, 2 metres apart.. It’s fascinating history is it was constructed in around 1300 AD and was widened in the 19th century. Very picturesque location, with plenty of ducks and fishes in crystal clear water.
