Wonderful old market town in the hart ❤ of the Peak District, good pubs, cafe and shopping, plenty of car parking on offer too, lunchtime is of course very busy, but either side of that much easier to get whatever you fancy, the river is splendid, take time to watch the wildlife on and in the river, I've never seen such large trout, both brown and rainbow just below the surface. Bakewell is usually a busy little town, loads of quirky shops to browse around, some great pubs to have lunch in, or fish aand chips by the river, THAT'S when we're not in lock down AGAIN! However, we had a wander round today, needed food, so found a decent little pastie shop, just what was needed on a cold day, and it was nice to see, even though we're in lock down, people were still queing for fish and chips, 2 metres apart.. OBVIOUSLY 🙄 Bakewell is always worth a visit, come rain or shine and now come lock...

OMG hardly people know about the history of Bakewell Bridge. The Bakewell Bridge is a grade I listed stone bridge in town. It’s located over the river Wye. It’s fascinating history is it was constructed in around 1300 AD and was widened in the 19th century. Very picturesque location, with plenty of ducks and fishes in crystal clear water. A queue of benches siting next to the river so you can take a break as i did and had a crisp and drink. There were an old lady feed the...
