On the 7th October, I took my daughter to boingzone Stourbridge for her birthday party. This is maybe the 3rd party we have had for her there, and have been to several of her friends parties there. Several weeks previous to my booking I called to say that there was a child who was dairy intolerant, but as I was unable to speak to anyone I left a message and waited for a call back. That never happened. When I arrived to the party I told the lady on reception that I had called and no one had called me back. I wasn’t even asked about it. What if I hadn’t of mentioned it again? And that child had of eaten the food? I was told that all they could offer was crisps to the child as they had nothing but the food on offer. The mother of the child was then asked to sign a disclaimer before her child ate there. When the mother asked to see the folder of ingredients she was shown a WhatsApp picture message. I’m sure health and safety wouldn’t accept that should they arrive. Getting on to heath and safety. My daughter whilst playing bumped her head with another child, so I asked a member of staff for an ice pack for her head. I was told to “ hit it off the chair” and it would activate. It didn’t. Upon further inspection, the ice pack was out of date by 7 months! When I arrived I was told the party room was currently being used but if we sat at the other side the previous party would finish & room would be cleaned for us to use. My party was booked for 12:15pm. By 12:30 there was no sign of the party room being finished with, so the area we were left with was with people who had nothing to do with my daughters party. When I asked at reception what was going on, I was then told I’m not guaranteed the party room? Yet in previous years, we’ve always been given it, as it’s a party. Several of the other parents told me that they had always been given the party room too when they had booked for a party. It has never been stated to me in previous years that I had to “book” the party room or that I wasn’t guaranteed it and it certainly wasn’t stated to me when I booked it. Just when I think it can’t be anymore of a shambles a member of staff then tells me they don’t have any lighters to light the candles on my daughters birthday cake.
The way the party was handled was terrible and I was made to feel like it was me who was causing the problems. What a terrible experience I have had at your venue. Awful customer service and I’m really disappointed that my daughter and her friends didn’t get the experience they are usually used to. After emailing the business over 10 days ago with my concerns, I’m ignored.. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. And I know myself, nor the parents of the children at my daughters party will never...
Read moreSo I attended this morning on the 10am toddler time session with my 2 and 1 year old. I honestly never leave reviews, but i felt that for the safety of young children this was extremely necessary. Where do I start?? When we arrived the staff told us the foam pits had no foam in so they weren't open for use, and the air bags weren't fully safe... therefore you can use them just for climbing on but no usage of the platform. We found this okay - until we realised there was nothing else majorly to do here. The trampolines are FALLING APART. They are slack, all patched up and feel as if they are going to break. My littlest boy kept catching his feet on the exposed metal on some of the trampolines. The toys put out for toddler time (all 5 of them) were dusty, dirty, and looked as if they had been used way past their potential. And the floor.. I felt like I needed a shower on the way out of this place as it was so filthy.
So... after realising we had wasted £22 on this hell hole the unimaginable happened. On the side of the air bag there is a gap, a HUGE HOLE, of which my two year old (who is luckily a large boy for his age) fell down. I turned around for a split second and could just see his head and could hear him screaming under the floor. If I had left it a few more seconds what would have happened? Suffocation? Squashed between the bag? Or even worse what if it was my littlest boy who's 1. Your staff member who was on shift alongside Callum just stood their staring blankly at the fact my little boy was stuck. So, after this we had to take him to a&e as he was limping. He has damage to the tendants in his leg. Thanks guys- I can assure you Boing Zone I will be taking this further, there are numerous SERIOUS health and safety issues at your centre, having been to flip out in oldbury and then going to yours, the difference is actually unspeakable. Arrived at 10, left at 10.15. I've requested a full refund and I do hope I receive this, as I will be taking this matter to the local council and newspapers tomorrow. Oh- whilst also standing consoling my little boy another young lad had fell into the foam pits as the girl on shift wasn't watching closely enough to tell him it wasn't accessible, and really hurt himself. His parents were so angry, and they both were sat in the foam pit consolling him. He looked in agony. I look forward to hearing from you via email, I would suggest you put some money into the whole park or close it down. Massive disaster waiting to...
Read moreI attended for a child's party (classmate of my daughter) and the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth...in addition to the "owner" leaving immature and unprofessional passive-aggressive comments here. Sounds like they need to take some hospitality courses along with certain staff members.
Upon arriving, I was met by the birthday child's mother to apologise that there had been a mix up with the time. Our invitations read 11-12:30 and the young girl behind the desk insisted it was booked from 10-11:30. She then asked to see my invite and announced the handwriting didn't belong to any of her staff members. The party mom had simply written the time given to her by the individual who booked the party initially, but the girl was more interested in arguing with the mom over who's fault it was. So unprofessional and tactless!
The children were allowed some play time...about 20 minutes by the time we found our own way to the party room and sorted shoes/socks etc.
An announcement was made to them return to the party room where everything seemed incredibly rushed. The children were meant to have hot food but instead had sandwiches & a single chicken nugget. In fact, the staff rudely refused to serve the young children until the party mom paid her balance in full - which seems ridiculous considering she didn't get the time she was promised/paid for.
Upon leaving, I overheard the female staff member moaning to her co-workers about the party mom who "turned up late" and was openly discussing the events, encouraging the other staff members to write their statements. This was all at the front desk in front of customers.
At minimum the staff should be retrained in proper customer service & etiquette. They really let themselves down and made Boing Zone look bad.
I was looking for somewhere to book for my 8 year old and now have decided 100%...
