A good place to go with your family. Easy access and good parking facilities. Coffee, rowing boats, play grounds and nature 'ad libitum'. An ideal place to share a birthday cake. To the west of the pond there are a number of fantastic burial mounts. They are a bit difficult to spot if one do not know what one is looking for. National Lottery Funds are currently being used for their excavation. Some money could be used for signs and a trail, so one could visit them all and learn to identify the different designs signifying different time periods. Another little gem is the path which is being built on the south side of the pond between the trees. It is a collaboration between Friends of the Heath and students from Churcher's College. There are toilet facilities at the cafe and they are OK, but dated.

Lovely tranquil spot to break our journey on a hot day, limited parting on the road by the care and play area, and safety concerns walking from car to gap in railings to access the park as a narrow road with no pavement on the park side and speeding traffic. Love the cafe see sepate review. Beautiful raised deck walkways and boat hire ( currently closed) On a hot day some seating in the shade would be a welcome bonus, in fact more of the seating by the cafe (with tables,) would be a great improvement... You need to run the gauntlet of a huge population of Egyptian Geese apparently mis-naned as closer to a duck than a goose and not native to Egypt.

Very well kept and beautiful area. Dog friendly and a good hours walking around the lake. Plenty of seating and a toilet with cafe close by. Parking is ok but during busy times might be a bit small. There's a great children's play area near the cafe and toilets so something for everyone. Around 15 minutes walk from the town centre if you fancy a visit and its a nice place to walk around with a few decent shops and restaurants. There's an oldie worldie physick garden which is a nice quiet haven but for some reason dogs are not allowed.

Visited here on Sunday with grandchildren ranging from 10 - 15yrs. Weather lovely. Fed the ducks/swans with swan/duck food/pellets (can buy online), even older kids like this. Then we walked around the lake, taking path to explore heath, paths here more walkers than buggies - there were some general map boards but used phone. Ended with walk along high street and looking at shops which on the whole were open. Did manage to park on the road near the cafe side, which was free. Nice place to visit, on our favourite list, just a bit further afield from...
