Abington — Restaurant in Great Britain

Just had dinner at The Abington and extremely disappointed. Paid the bill and advised the server that it was the worst meal we've had there. I paid and he promptly served another customer after which he asked if he could help me, as I remained at the bar. Told him I was going to advise what was wrong with the meal, to which he replied "I'm not interested, I'm hourly paid and don't care" to which I was very surprised and responded that with that attitude I wouldn't go there again. The starter came with the main course, garlic mushrooms that were overcooked as the fork couldn't penetrate the coating. Very impressive pub! Great value. Good food. Compliments to the chef. The food was cooked perfectly. Friendly bar lady. Green king. Lots of choice on the menu. Dog friendly!! Yay. No dog biscuits available though 😌 The Abington is a beautiful building. Inside & out. It’s a sports bar, but don’t let this put you off. .. if you’re not into sport. Parking is a bit of an issue. But plenty of side street parking to be had. It’s a town pub, with lots of character. Bus service is available to here. So it’s all good. #Buddyfriendlypubs Definitely a rovers return. Great dog walk to be had after lunch, around...

The Abington is such a great pub, a true gem of Northampton. Always a really great vibe and atmosphere, good people and above all tasty cocktails! The food is your standard pub food but there's something for everyone and the prices are more than reasonable. Excellent location too, especially in the summer when you can spend the day in the park then the evening in the pub. Alternatively, it can be super cozy in the winter too and they even having heating in their garden if you do want to brave the cold. They've managed their Covid safety really well too, but I am especially looking forward to the return of karaoke night once it is safe to one day...
