If you’re heading to Torbay and looking for a good beach to spend the day on then I would recommend Goodrington Beach. Having used it when I lived nearby, it’s now my go-to family beach when visiting as it’s got everything I need to hand. Aside from it being sandy, there’s newly constructed toilets, disabled parking near the front, two other car parks not too far away, beach/holiday stores selling buckets and spades, the water park is there, plus the other end of the beach is a kiosk selling ice creams and hot food like cheesy chips, plus another toilet. Pub close by too which is handy. Sewage outlet not so nice but never really been a problem.

Lovely flat sandy beach that has a Premier inn & Brewers fayre Restaurant as you walk along to take in the sea air. Too many dog walkers in this area for my liking off season, constantly barking dogs that ruins the silence as you walk along & the people never look happy! Chargeable limited parking along the way with a small array of seasonal small stores for snacks & beverages, holiday beach huts on this flat stretch with some rocks to climb on in one direction, or a hike up some stairs towards the Paignton Harbour in the opposite direction.

We had a great time here, the tide was out and there was a vast stretch of beach and some lovely rock pools! The dogs had a fabulous time chasing around after their ball and frisbee and then came and help us with the rock pooling!! Nice little car park, not too many spaces where we parked though, can imagine this being very busy in summer!! Nice pub for a drink and food on the front, lots of outdoor seating and water bowls out for the dogs, toilets for use by their customers only.

Goodrington beach is an ideal place for holidaymakers. The northern part allows dogs all year round while the southern section prohibits them from May to September. It is now the only beach between Torquay and Brixham to have a beach manager and attendants. There is a pub in between the two sections of beach and amusements and a very big water slide nearby. Steam trains from Paignton to Kingswear run behind the beach and stop at Goodrington station. There are public toilets at the north end, south end and in the middle of the beach. The southwest coastal path runs along the promenade and there are excellent walks to Torquay and Brixham. The beach is predominantly sandy but there are rocky pools in the middle and at the southern end. A...

This beach is lovely and sandy, great for sandcastles and playing with kids. There are a number of amenities, including an amusements, swan boats, mini golf and an ice cream kiosk. The views are gorgeous and it's sheltered in the middle of Torbay so the waves are minimal. Not good for surfing but great for playing in the sea or paddle boarding. There are several restaurants nearby; I would recommend Cantina. Parking is pretty expensive and there aren't many free places to park nearby within walkable distance so bear that in mind. A beach that you can easily spend a full day enjoying as the tide tends not to get too high too quickly, unlike many North Devon beaches and Torre...
