Very very unimpressed with harbour. Jessie Walter who executed a brutal assault on me in2007 that left me with a brain injury is supported by mousehole harbour and given a position that legally he should not have. I was attacked and called single parent scum and horrifically beaten in front of 12 men which included amongst other things holding my head to the floor and punching it at least 17 times. I was 8 and a half stone. Jessie walter, a fisherman was at least 15 stone and then spent 16 years intentionally harrassing and stalking and using other violent friends to intimidate..despite writing to the harbour to ask that they not encourage him to the village they have still kept him as a commisioner representing mousehole. This case needs to go to Crown Court.i do not feel that supporting a man who committed such a brutal assault on a woman should be encouraged onto a beach with women and children under the esteemed title of Harbour Commisioner having committed such brutal violence. This man is supported by people who know what he did such as the harbour officials. Some of these men can all be seen seated together in the very territorial benches next to the left car park. Parading around in friendly fishermans clothes or just sitting looking like normal folk. But often openly defending the man that beat a 33 year old mother into a life time of horrific pain and disability. If you are a misogynistic man or woman with an aggresive heart who enjoys this sort of stuff. You will find your tribe here. If not just sit and observe for yourself the level of intelligence that is currently holding the reigns to the "loveliest village in England." These men need replacing with people who genuinely care about Mousehole harbour and those...
Read moreFirst of all, I have to say that the only reason this doesn't have 5 stars is because of the nearby roads. I know that should not reflect on the location itself, but right up until you get to the harbour the roads are pretty bad. By bad, I mean extremely narrow. It took us having to reverse and divert a number of times because two cars physically couldn't pass and there was nowhere for them to reverse.
That aside, this place is absolutely worth a visit. It was absolutely beautiful. There was parking at the time, however I'm not too sure how easy it would be if it was a busier time of year.
The harbour had lots of boats (the tide was out), which made it great for photography. The village itself had a number of shops that were shut, but then it was hardly peak season, so we expected as much. There were a number of nice trinket shops, as well as food shops. We bought a great tasty pasty and cakes from one of the shops opposite the harbour itself.
Even walking around the narrow, tiny roads and backstreets was really plesant.
If you're near the area, I would absolutely recommend paying this...
