I’ve never left a Google review before but it wouldn’t be fair to let this one slide, as no future customers should have the same experience as we just had. I have a lot of respect for hospitality staff who work in customer service roles and don’t believe that there is ever an excuse to be rude, and likewise I don’t think waiting staff should be rude to their paying customers, or anyone for that matter. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case here. In addition, they kept us waiting for half an hour for our 2 scones (yes, two pieces of bread) that we were promised in 5 minutes. And I don’t mean the Karen 30 minutes that are actually 10, but an actual half hour. When asked for a refund, we didn’t receive one, so due to the waiting time and not wanting to lose our money, we missed a time slot that we had booked for a different event. The bread and coffee was cold when it finally arrived, we kept being ignored by staff and they did not stick to their promised time frame even once. I also want to point out that we specifically ordered non-dairy milk due to allergies and was still served normal milk which once again shows the carelessness about customer satisfaction and even health and safety. I think this experience could’ve been improved greatly with a kinder attitude from the staff as well as keeping us informed to why our cream tea took so long, offering alternative solutions (including accepting a refund) or maybe a little compensation for the waiting time. Unfortunately, this was a waste of time and money and ruined our day so we will not be recommending this place to our friends and family visiting Mousehole...

What a fantastic cafe with a superb host who I assume is the owner named Gail. We booked last minute & managed to get a table, the lady who we later realised was Gail asked in advance what we were hoping to eat (given we was arriving almost at the end of the day) to ensure they had enough scones etc. to cater enough Cornish cream tea to avoid disappointment when we arrived, this attention to detail was massively appreciated.

From the get go of arriving at the door i was greeted by my name we were seated at our table and boom! the homemade scones by the cafe’s chef (Gail’s husband) with the clotted cream & jam were absolutely delicious! Great value for money along with even greater service & ambiance makes this a cafe we’ll be sure to return to in the future & recommend to friends alike when they...

Visiting this cafe was the primary reason for visiting Mousehole and it didn't disappoint. It's a family run cafe with the old lady handling all matters at the front - managing customer seating, helping with the menu, helping with and taking meal orders and bill payments, all with a smile. We were full when we visited but couldn't resist a slice of cake with coffee. Had the Dundee cake which came recommended and the tea cake both of which were amazing and tasted fresh and delicious. The tea cake was toasted perfectly and was perfect with butter and a pot of tea. The cafe decor is old school and is kept very clean. Depending on how busy it gets and what you offer, you might have to wait a bit to be seated and get your food as it's prepared fresh. Our visit to Mousehole for this...

What a find this lovely little cafe was! During a visit to Mousehole, found this amazing cafe whilst looking for somewhere for a cup of tea and something to eat. Ended up stopping for a late lunch with soup and fish and chips, all of which was made fresh on the premises and was delicious and very tasty. Would have had a slice of cake too, but too full. The service from the chatty and very friendly lady (Gail) running the cafe was excellent and she was more than happy to let us in with our two well-behaved dogs. Nothing was too much trouble. I would absolutely recommend this cafe to anyone visiting Mousehole. Well worth a visit. Thanks for making us very welcome, and for the excellent food which we thoroughly enjoyed :o)
