Don’t even waste your time coming here because the staff clearly don’t want to serve you... We arrived at 21:18 for a quiet drink after checking the website and seeing the pub closed at 22:00. We waited for a member of staff to seat us, one lad was running food to customers and the other was just stood about at the bar. Idle eyed, staring off into the abyss. After waiting for a few moments, the bartender decided to engaged us, asking if we were just having drinks. We gleefully replied with a big ‘yes please’, eager to have a lovely, relaxing beverage. The Bartender then rudely stated that they have already called last orders as they close at 10pm (42 minutes time!) Bare in mind, people were still getting their dinner taken out to them at this point so were they just expected to eat up ASAP without any drinks? “Odd, but fair enough” we thought to ourselves as we left. We spent a moment outside looking on google for another pub nearby. Meanwhile two locals just stroll into the pub, walk up to the bar and get served without a second thought! One of the staff members, who was just milling about outside on his phone at this point, noticed us noticing this. And quickly proceeded to scurry inside and shut up the door, reinforcing the fact that we were very much not welcome. We spent a while stewing in our self pity and the embarrassment of the whole situation before deciding to walk down the road to a pub in Mousehole which also closes at 22:00. Upon arrival, although looking like it was about to close, the staff were very accommodating and happily served us a drink even though they had 15 minutes before they had to close up...

Basically the Kings Arms staff can’t be bothered to serve people, so just save them the effort and save your money by...

Waited 20mins for drinks ...... 40 mins for them to actually take our order then another hour for food to come. Another table had to wait an hour before anyone even came to see them. The chef obviously cannot cook more than one meal at a time as we were a party of 4 and all of our 4 meals came out 15 minutes apart!!! Other people were moaning also! Only 6 tables booked and 4 staff! Chicken burger had been deep fried within an inch of its life..... would of been more tasty to eat corrugated cardboard and husbands whitebait was huge fried sardines?!! When we finally came to pay the bill we asked all 4 staff to take our money ..... in the end husband had to actually say’ does anyone want to take our money?? We should of just walked out! Ridiculous buzzer systems on tables that you can press to call the staff for drinks food bill etc that they just turn off an ignore ...waste of time! Such a shame!! For a country village pub which is our local but we will never be going back!! Go to the pubs in Newlyn or Penzance.

As you can see from the response this pub is clearly run by teenagers..... not even an apology! Im afraid i am no troll! This is what the review section is for! The reviews from other guests from the same night on trip adviser says it all really! Plus lots of other bad reviews. As for alerting a member of staff? Are you joking? They were no where to be seen .... and turned the buzzers off. Yes we will always support local...

Everything that is good and bad about Cornwall. Good food and lovely location, but it's the summer side of Easter weekend, so it's full steam ahead, assuming it will be immediately overrun with tourists ready to empty their wallets. So the 2 for £22 offer that made us book in the first place "no longer applies after Easter we might put it back on if it's quiet" I was told. OK, no worries I thought so we ordered from the main menu... asked to do a small portion of a main meal for my 9 year old..."no" I was told... OK, so I'll have the mixed grill please..."do you want some chips because it doesn't come with chips.... what? Just meat? Yes... OK well that why my payment didn't come with a tip if my £25 mixed grill doesn't come with chips.... and the fact we were all but ignored after we had been rushed through our order and even asking for salt seemed a chore. Very very rude. We left not very late but left an empty pub behind us. A real shame and I hope the arrogance and rudeness we encountered this evening doesn't kill it off, I'm sure it will rinse enough over the summer to survive another winter, I hope it does but I doubt I'll rush back as I've eaten far better for less and felt far far more welcome elsewhere this week..... and I didn't need to pee in a portaloo...

Absolutely delicious food. 6 of us dined here, for mains we had Lasagne, Roseworthy Farms Pork Duo, Hunters Chicken, and the Mixed Grill. Wow, all of the food was amazing, I had the Roseworthy Farms Pork Duo (2 sausages, 2 pork loins, creamy mash, onion gravy and peas), everything was so flavoursome (the mash and gravy in particular). This was the last meal of our weeks stay in Cornwall, and we all agreed this was the best place we had been (the best food, and the best value for money too). A little 'out of the way' this place had a lovely local feel, and was busier than we expected (but in a good way), and had a great atmosphere, people (locals and visitors) chatting and enjoying themselves. The staff where very welcoming and friendly too, thank you for a great experience!

The Kings Arms is a beautiful little Inn/B&B. Old fashioned genuinely kind, hospitality. I stayed with our teen son and we loved the beautiful breakfast included, nothing was a hassle and they genuinely want you to be very happy. Maya in particular was an absolute delight that I thoroughly enjoyed chatting to. She is an absolute asset to the Inn, super friendly and helpful . All the ladies were lovely to us and the room stocked well with tea and coffee and biscuits . We did hear a little noise from the room next to us (we were in the family room) but apart from that, could not fault our stay. Ate dinner both nights and food was quite lovely. In particular the mussels, very tasty. Would not hesitate in staying again if we happen to come back to the UK!
