THE PUTTING CAFE Beautiful gdns and wonderful views spoilt by the putting green Cafe if you can call it that. I ordered a pot of tea for 2 a slice of cake and a cheese and onion toasty. After a 20 mins the cake had been consumed and the pot dry. I asked how much longer i had to wait, i was abruptly told i assume by the owner that it was cooking. . I assumed he meant grilling. . It arrived with with a salad . The toasty had 2 pieces of onion and had been well over grilled . The Salad consisted of 6 sweet corn and one half on a tiny tomato and some green leaves , not sure what they were, and Can some one tell me why are you asked how many sugars u want where ever you go . Any way back to the bad attitude manager, why don’t you close up it up , you have no idea or interest in how to deal with the public and only open 10 to 16:00 for 5 days a week and the amount of times you gave been closed for covid is amazing you must be the hot spot of the isle if wight you need to look for something new to write. Hopefully you will sell up and move on its lost it ambience since the previous owner and you food...
Read moreLovely gardens and grounds not far from Shanklin Chine. Need to find parking down local streets but well worth it! Try Luccombe Road near gardens main entrance. Superb cafe serving various foods from toasties, cheesy chips, sandwiches, hot foods and terrific locally made cakes. Totally recommend the flap jack with choc chip and blue flower! Quite sticky but heavenly flavour. Coffees are great but note cooked food isn't served after 1430hrs. The gardens wrap around a cute crazy golf course. Kids loved this! It's £4.50 per child and £5.50 per adult or family tickets available. Surrounding the golf course are the gardens - not quite National Trust but honest, clean, beautifully maintained and offer some truly special plant verieties. Local bug life is strong and well promoted without endangering any stability or limiting eco systems. The horticulturalist is a lovely lady to talk to, and is busy tending the grounds most days. Some plants are offered for sale and they are excellent examples in great condition. It was a great 2.5hrs spent with our families - some great memories....

My dad started playing the crazy golf but had to stop half way round as the rain was too bad, but he was given a free game for another day to compensate which was really nice of the...
