In the same building as the library, this small museum is still packed with history and a range of art. A place you must visit if Warrington is new to you.

It reveals much about the history of Warrington and its importance in history.

The exhibits are well displayed and information about many of them make the history clear. More recent artwork is mixed with the older artwork which some will like. Some of the new artwork is given very much prominence and well displayed.

One piece of recent art in particular, an upside down tree, hangs above the minerals display - a point we raised with a staff member as to whether or not there would be more symbolism if the minerals were below the roots rather than the branches. However, the context is for the artist to decide.

The historical artifacts are grouped in such a way as to make the history clear, and some of the more recent displays are nicely arranged to bring back memories for different age groups.

The staff seem to be typical of Warrington in that they are friendly and polite. A museum shop (2 cabinets) allow you to purchase some items to remember your visit.
