In the same building as the library, this small museum is still packed with history and a range of art. A place you must visit if Warrington is new to you. It reveals much about the history of Warrington and its importance in history. The exhibits are well displayed and information about many of them make the history clear. More recent artwork is mixed with the older artwork which some will like. Some of the new artwork is given very much prominence and well displayed. One piece of recent art in particular, an upside down tree, hangs above the minerals display - a point we raised with a staff member as to whether or not there would be more symbolism if the minerals were below the roots rather than the branches. However, the context is for the artist to decide. The historical artifacts are grouped in such a way as to make the history clear, and some of the more recent displays are nicely arranged to bring back memories for different age groups. The staff seem to be typical of Warrington in that they are friendly and polite. A museum shop (2 cabinets) allow you to purchase some items to remember your visit.

A really lovely, slightly quaint old school museum and gallery in a surprisingly lovely part of Warrington, handy for the theatre and some nice eateries. I and a colleague brought seven adults with severe learning disabilities to see work by the artist Val Hunt; we couldn't have been greeted any more warmly by the friendly staff who seemed well-informed about the exhibition and the museum in general. We had a lovely experience and would one hundred percent hurry back! The work was incredible too.

There is actually quite a bit to see and do. The kids loved playing with the dinosaurs and the Lego. Itβs a little tight when trying to navigate with a pram and thereβs no dedicated parking, although thereβs a couple of car parks nearby and you can pay by card or via an app. Nice cheap day out for kids. I brought my 2 year old and a friends 5 and 8 year olds and they all had fun.

Was initially there for specific items to view. The staff are amazing, went above and beyond to help us commoners π no they made us aware of items of specific interest and managed to get us some special viewings although I know they do this for everyone it felt special. We even went back a few days later a. New place to go learn and chill.

Great small museum. However the door on the way in closes to fast meaning my elderly nan got hit by the door as she was still walking into the building, other than that it was a great place and a very great place to find out some information about the area of Warrington! I definitely recommend the art gallery area it was so interesting!
