Lovely place and great food
Visited with my parents on a Friday evening. It was very busy at 6:30 but fortunately for the staff it didn't get any busier. The service was a little slow but we weren't in a hurry. However, all the staff were fantastic. All smiling and pleasant to talk to. The restaurant is cosy so felt quite manic. That wasn't helped by the music which intermittently got very loud.
Most importantly the food was delicious. I had the Penne All' Orientale. It was really nice but misleading from the description on the menu. It said a 'dash of curry and tomato' but was way more than a 'dash' so basically curry sauce. The sauce was also on my limit of spicy (although I don't do spicy food at all really). The vegetables and chicken were tasty and the portion was generous. I really like curry so it was fine but someone else may have been very disappointed with it. If I knew what it was going to be I would have ordered something different.
My Mum had the seafood risotto and my Dad the Pork Caruso. They both cleared their plates, which again were generously loaded. We also had the special garlic bread. The slices with cheese and tomato sauce were great but the plain pieces didn't have enough garlic butter so didn't have much flavour.
Overall the food was really good value and the menu is vast so plenty to choose from. They had a brilliant range of gins too, along with fevertree tonic which was an added bonus! I definitely...
Read moreWhent to this place a few months ago can't remember when but only just remembered to do a review me and my friend had the lasagna and it was the best I have ever had it was excellent and service was good but the music was to loud couldn't have a nice chat with my friend who I came with while being in the restaurant we wanted to enjoy the nice Italian music if it was back ground music but every 15 minutes we heard the same song this was every time happy birthday was played as thire was a few birthdays and the music whent back to the beginning of the playlist we must have herd that's amor'e about 5 times and the same music was played again the disco lights do not give a restaurant vibe at all more of a party vibe and a lot of people in the restaurant aren't thire to have a party and it doesn't go with the vibe of the restaurant also is not friendly for those who suffer from epilepsy and flashing lights and autism like me. I feel if you got rid of them and sort the music out get 2 Spotify playlists done a birthday one and a normal restaurant one that would work better for you as you can switch between the 2 it will be right atmosphere and play more Italian traditional music you expect to hear from a Italian as it very rare I get the chance to hear nice Italian music also the bread sticks are such a personal touch don't ever stop them they...
Read moreI've read alot about this place, some of my collagues also mentioned about it. So went there with high expectations. Lovely place, can do a walk in and no need for reservation. Staff was helpfull and friendly. Had us sat beside another family which clearly had little space between tables so had to ask to move on a different table. Ordered quick but I noticed some of the staff was not as attentive and I had to wave at them many times to call their attention, one of the chef even prodded the staff that I was calling them. Food took awhile to arrive and was a big let down for me. It tasted just ordinary despite it's price. I've been to a number of italian places but it was just okay, even the dessert was not what I would have expected. Food I ordered was supposed to have some sausagr but didn't find any so I presumed it was a different one. Salmon was just okay though priced a bit steep. Risotto was not that good. Garlic bread was nice and the pasta was okay. Very friendly staff, love the ambiance and the music...
