Not open to the public so you can only walk past to look at it. An old battery fort built during Henry VIII's reign and a couple of later monarchs stayed here/rested for a while. Whoever owns it clearly looks after it as it's very picturesque. I would like to see what its like inside but that's a privilege for those who are close to the owners I suppose.

Attractive Tudor fortress that's now a private residence. It's not open to the public, but makes an interesting landmark on the walk between Folkestone and Hythe.

Very interesting to see Sandgate Castle from the sea path. One of the Device Forts, artillery fortifications built to defend the coast of England and Wales by Henry VIII. A Napoleonic martello tower added later. It is a private home but the owners must love the history as they have replica cannons on specific places and the date is clearly marked...

I kissed a really fit boy outside the castle. It was very exciting . One of the greatest kisses. I’d always had a thing for him. For about 12 years I guess . I finally decided to bite the bullet and Sandgate castle was the perfect location to finally stare into his beautiful brown eyes and tell him that...
