We went here with friends as they live here in Sandgate. Lovely little pub setting greeted by the owner and staff and they made you feel so welcome. Lovely log fire which was greatly appreciated as it was cold today. There were 6 of us and we had a variety of starters. The whitebait was the best I have ever tasted. The scotch and haggis egg was excellent. I had the pulled pork bon bons with stilton cheese crumbled over them and a sauce to die for. My wife then had bangers and mash and she loved it. The rest of us had the roast and hand on heart was the best I have had to date. The deserts were perfection rhubarb crumble, lemon posset, sticking toffee pudding and chocolate brownie. The food was next level, beautifully presented and absolutely faultless. The owner and the staff made the experience and can't thank them enough. This is truly a hidden gem and you won't be disappointed, this is an absolute must. 11/02/2024 went here again with more friends and wow.
