Loved it here. Free entry with a donation box near the front door if you want to offer a donation, but no pressure to do so. An art exhibition was first which the lady kindly explained about to us. It was an artists impression of the unconscious mind. Was glad she had told me because I’d never have guessed. Big daubs of colour splattered with some dots on etc…. Not my cup of tea at all. The next bit was a museum of history of Forfar and the surrounding area. This was really interesting and well worth going to see and read / learn about. There is a lovely little street set up with various shops depicting trades of past times in the area. There was a good bit about the Picts and a few carved stones found locally. I highly recommend this Museum /...

I was really impressed and have been telling loads of folk to go, what a...
Read moreThis museum is a gem! We discovered it quite by accident and went in because we were curious about the name - we wondered what a Meffan was!🤣 Once inside though we were hooked. There is a fabulous collection of Pictish carved standing stones and other artefacts found in the region. There are good information boards through-out. There is also a re-construction of a Forfar High St. from the Victorian era. It is an interesting and informative little museum. The staff we met were friendly...
