You will find the Namco Funscape across from McDonald's inside the Metro Centre. My kids always enjoy a few hours in here, and I don't mind it too either! 😄 We usually play a few arcade games, a few games of air hockey, and enjoy crashing into everyone on the dodgems 😄 There's also 10 pin bowling here and a childs indoor play area that looks really good, but we haven't tried these yet 😊 You have your usual grab machines, which I still haven't won on yet 🙄😄 multiple 2p machines, 10p machines, and pretty much a bit of everything. The arcade machines are £1 each, and there's a good selection. Air hockey is £1.50 and the dodgems £4 a car, or I should say, they were when we were here in Oct'23 It's definitely worth a visit with the kids whilst searching the shops for bargains 😊👌

Was playing the super hero coin falls game and it throws up an error code. Call the guy over who tells me he has to move all of the prize cards to fix the error. Before the error the machine was dropping cards at decent intervals. After the was "fixed" the cards no longer moved (picture shows location of cards £5 after "fix"). Maintenance guy seems to have a problem with people winning prizes, maybe they charge his salary or something. Either way don't bother putting a penny in their machines after they have been touched by staff. Place is usually fun, neat and tidy otherwise.

Wow what a amazing find, located within a shopping centre. Was set up well for covid, and social distancing was in place. The venue has lots and lots of machines, dodgems, pool tables, bar, play area... even 2p machines for children... really has a carnival and seaside feel to the place... with plenty of fun and memories to be made. It was a very welcoming place, even my son enjoyed it.venue was very clean and tidy. Would recommend highly, and would visit again if in the area... Wow wow wow what a find.

Maybe it's because Sega pulled out of arcade games cabinet industry, or maybe its the changing of the guard, but being an old school retro arcade cabinet kind of guy, I was severely disappointed.

Bear in mind when I was a kid, we had metroland and the arcade back then had arcade CLASSICS! the likes of:

Tekken Street fighter Time Crisis 1-3 Virtua Cop Mortal Kombat House of the dead After burner (ride moved around like a fighter once you were strapped in) Star Wars Many beat em ups and shoot em ups

What is it with arcades these days it's all 4d rubbish or bad versions of games I can play for free at home.

Even 5 years ago, this was a decent arcade with some classic decent games! Now it's full of shiny flashy rubbish with no soul.

I don't want to play hungry hippos or shoot a water gun. I am fine shooting basketball hoops at home. That's honestly the BEST it has to offer. So sad.

This owners need to look at bars like 4 Quarters and NQ64 in Central Newcastle if they want to see how an arcade is done.

I bet they could make a LOT more money and have a lot more visitors if they actually catered for any kind of audience other than kids trying to spend their parents money on something shiny and with flashing lights on it.

Sort it out PLEASE!

For those adults who want a real arcade experience, check out NQ64 and 4 quarters in Newcastle. Much better arcades for adults.

If you're taking the kids, pop along to this one, they will be too young to know better and I'm sire they will have little resistance to the flashing lights, shiny, money eating bits of rubbish that live in "arcades" these...

*WOULDN'T EVEN GIVE IT 1 STAR BUT AUTOMATICALLY 1 STAR IS ALREADY COLOURED IN!!!!!

im not 1 for leaving reviews on places but after visiting on Wednesday night & leaving with an upset little boy i decided to write this review!!!

unfortunately I wasnt actually in Namco with my little boy my partner was while i shopped, when we met back up my partner told me they had won the jack pot i believe this is what it is called & this is the highest amount of tokens you can get however according to the man behind the counter this is impossible!!! manager was called who i believe said the same!!!

nothing is impossible these days or is just 1 big scam thats why its impossible fancy trying to scam a 7 year old boy?????

so my boy left with a minion pencil pack which he was quite happy with however the pencils are that crap in this pack they dont even sharpen!!!

I wont be taking my boy to Namco again & some training is defiantly needed in this establishment as CUSTOMERS ARE ALWAYS RIGHT!!! and if your going 2 give prizes make sure there...

We take the kids to the soft play inside it's a convenient and fun for the children, it's got a small ball pit and under 4s area with its own small slide and some levels to climb and big soft blocks to play with

The older children's side is over two levels, with larger, wider slides, rope bridges, airball guns and a air ball volcano and other sections.

It's not really big but it's the right size for kids under 5 as it's a little more intimate and easier to keep an eye on the kids as they play.

They do serve pizza, chips and burgers and coffees or slushies and other items the chips we had were ok but nothing of particular note

There's tables for parents to sit on and toilet facilities are clean. Also there's usually TV screens showing football.

Plenty of room for kids to run around.

There's also reasonably priced party packages with a fairly large private room with a table for food and cake.

There's s security gate that needs staff to open.

As feedback, I'd just say a large clock somewhere...
