I usually get really good service here but today was a whole new experience and not one I care to repeat. I spend on average £90 a visit but I feel they have become arrogant to customer needs. I've left this review in case they want to reflect on their poor customer service but I suspect they won't care. Folk who fear repercussions from the top don't behave this badly so they must be used to getting away with this behaviour so if this saves someone else from this misery, job done.
I turned up today and was greeted by a very hostile man on the front desk with a point to prove and a big chip on his shoulder He was a dead ringer for Matt Lucas ( without the comedy, this was a very serious jobsworth). I turned up with my husband and son at 14:45pm and was told a table was not available until 15:15pm. No problem at all, I will return at that time. I returned at exactly 15:15pm and there was a que outside, afraid I was going to lose my space I came inside just ro let the server know I'd arrived.
I stood at the side whilst he served another customer but without uttering a word and to my surprise as soon as he saw me turned and said all these people are in the queue too, he was making out I was jumping the que when in fact I had been at this point waiting for a table for over 30 minutes and the folk at the door had just arrived. He was rolling his eyes as if I was being impatient. I tried to tell him I was just letting him know we were here. He replied, well I know but you need to go to the back of the que and wait like everyone else. Its actually return between 15:15 & 15:30 .He really was overreacting and turning this into something it wasn't. I was only telling him I'd arrived and he had made it a huge deal in front of a que of people. There was really no call for it and I really didn't appreciate it at all.
I am a 47 year old business woman with my own company. I'I am also a mother of 6 grown up children so I'm very used to communicating with different individuals. Never in my life have I been spoken to like that. Had that been it, that would of been bad enough but the word got around and the waitress had the same negative attitude too. Huffing and puffing, looking bored staring into space at times whilst we spoke to her. She warmed up just before we left but the whole experience was atrocious.
I work all week to afford to go out and I refuse to spend my hard earned cash on a place that breeds this sort of negativity. To the managers I would sort out your staff ASAP.
My advice to anyone going here, keep your cash and go somewhere else that has a better appreciation for their customers. Somewhere that can at least be courteous. Only then will things change . Vote with your feet and if you get bad service leave a review that accurately reflects...
Read moreDaughter just got GCSE results and wanted to go to TGI at Metro Centre. Ordered sesame chicken strips and 9 Friday wings and a Mixed Grill.
When the food came I had to asked the waitress what the mixed contained and when she looked the dish she said this isn't normal the steak was so small and it shouldn't be like this (Her Words). She was excellent and went to have another steak prepared for me. In the meantime I looked closer to the other pieces of meat and turned them over and it was so burnt I tried a small piece of the chicken and it just tasted bitter and burnt. Told the waitress who in turn apologised and called for the Manager. The Manager was very good and offered several options, which I turned down as now I didn't have any appetite at all, so they took the meal away. Cannot fault the waitress or the Manager in the way they dealt with it. Was offered free ribs on the house but just didn't fancy eating any more.
The other food my daughters and wife enjoyed very much.
Just wondered why this was still served when the steak was supposed to be a 4oz steak but ended up like a 1oz steak. Hate to think what a 8oz steak would be as a main meal and being so burnt the other pieces of meat.
Don't think I will return for a mixed grill, probably stick to Frankie Benny or Miller Carter next time
Photo shows the not so burnt side of the meat, forgot to take photo of the proper burnt side of the meats. Can you spot the steak? Yup right next to the tomato the small black thing...
Read moreFirstly, my favourite restaurant is TGI Fridays. I nearly always have the nachos and cajun fajita chicken. Never normally have an issue but today there was an issue as there were bones in a few pieces of the chicken as I was getting towards the end of my chicken. I just put these on the side of the sizzler dish just to let them know at the end. When the waitress came to clear our plates, I pointed out that there were bones in the chicken, not to cause an issue but to highlight this so other dishes can be checked. The waitress took my plate to the manager, David. After a few minutes he came over in the most rude and intimidating manner with no apologises claiming there was no bone, it was seasoning. I did explain I knew this was bone and was only raising this so they were aware of this for other people. He continued to say this was seasoning rather than offer any apologises. My husband and mother in law called him out on his approach and he apologised at this point about his approach rather than the chicken. I'm not happy with the poor people skills and ability to deal with a customer in an appropriate manner that was raising awareness that they had bones in the chicken. Not sure I would visit again after this. Just to warn, it's overpriced, our waitress was lovely but the manager made this a bad experience. I wouldn't recommend. We were looking forward to having dessert but...
