Blackwater Gallery — Attraction in Grangetown

As a new artist to the area, I was excited to be included into the gallery during a recent submission. I was excited with the enthusiasm they held but was disappointed when I was given only one day to pick up my piece after the exhibition. I misread the letter they had sent out and was working that authorized day. I have not recieved a reply since when I reached out a week ago, only assuming I am not important enough to reply to. Im very saddened, only imagining where my piece could be now.. I can only move forward now, hoping this incident doesn't hold me back from making submissions to other galleries...

We had such a wonderful visit to Blackwater Gallery today. My husband and I loved discovering new Welsh artists – James Sherwood, Louise, and Sophie – whose work truly stood out to us. Each piece felt inspiring and beautifully unique.

A big thank you to Sam, who showed us around the gallery. She was superb – informative, friendly, and made us feel completely comfortable throughout our visit. Her knowledge and warmth really enhanced the experience.

I came to this gallery whilst visiting Cardiff. When I showed up, the staff was getting ready for an exhibition, and not all the artwork was in this final position. I managed to get a preview on this upcoming exhibition of 26-30 pieces and it was great. Not having it setup meant that I managed to get a different view to everyone else, and it was great. The staff where really nice and chatty, and explained a lot about the pieces they where showing. All in all it is a great intimate gallery, with lovely staff and would definitely be going...
