Afternoon Starbucks,
Unfortunately my email to you today is not in relation to a franchise site, but one if your own - Cardiff Bay retail park. This Starbucks has been here for some time and although I've used it before, I won't again.
I called in at 11:07 I know this as I sent an email from my phone a minute earlier. I walked in and stood over 2 metres away from the couple in front. There was one other customer in front of them. The couple moved forward and the member of staff - Miriam struck up a conversation with them and started to discuss the current social distancing as both were stood close to each other and the screen. I was some 3 metres away, but in Miriam' mind wasn't far enough so she to me to move back. I was now some 5 metres away from the till (6 of your large floor slabs). She continued to gossip with the couple oblivious to the 2 new customers behind me.
Eventually - 10 minutes later after she'd asked them to repeat the order 4 times she moved on to me. No apology for the delay. I presented my voucher that I'd obtained from Starbucks due to previous poor service. I made my request "venti Caramel Macchiato, extra hot and blonde" 3 times she asked me to repeat myself. I was going to buy some cakes but by now my blood was boiling.
I moved to the spot that says "wait here" and I did... wait, and wait... The 2 baristas were shambolic. In the meantime myself and the other two customers were waiting and the queue for the drive through was growing rapidly.
Then Miriam left the till and started telling the staff to go on break including the 2 baristas... I was shocked, was Miriam actually a manager... when the position was available did no one else apply!?.
I finally received my coffee at 11:25. No apology, nothing.
I walked outside and the drive through had 16 cars waiting and only one barista on coffee, and 3 members of staff stood about.
Starbucks does not deserve my custom, in fact it didn't deserve anyone's at this location.. it is a disgrace!!
In addition, although other companies have managed to jeep a phone line open I'm shocked that a company of Starbucks size can't organise themselves to have a phone line available, instead I have to take time out of my day to message you about your pathetic, shambolic and inept staff.
Shame on you Starbucks
15.07.21. Again I was faced with the obnoxious member of staff, barking orders at the customers. Slow service, to the point I walked out. Went to the other local store... excellent service there,...
Read moreStarbucks coffee is Starbucks coffee so I'm not going to review that (although, having said that, ordering the same coffee each time doesn't necessarily mean it will taste exactly the same each time. It can sometimes taste a lot stronger than it should do but that's quite trivial and, at times appreciated).
I'm going to base this review on my drive-thru experience on the last few occasions.
First, the ordering screen. The last few times my partner and I have driven through, neither of us have been quite able to understand what the person with the mic is actually saying. Not too much of a problem when just ordering a drink but when I'm being told that certain foods are not in stock, it would be handy to be able to hear which foods they are exactly. This just results in me not ordering any food. I don't think this is human fault but rather a lack of investment in decent equipment.
Second (and of most significance to me) is the drive-thru itself. I mean, the actual road surface. The state of the road, conveniently after the window where you have collected your boiling hot liquid is, let's say, a little uneven. By 'a little uneven' I mean it is almost like how I envisage it would feel if I were to take a 1998 Nissan Micra off-road. I don't endorse drinking coffee whilst driving anyway but definitely don't until you are well clear of the drive-thru.
The road has been really bad for sometime now and seems to get worse with each visit. Hopefully it will get fixed soon but until then, drive very slowly. Oh, and maybe make sure you've got roadside cover. If it keeps getting worse rather than get fixed, you may need to...
Read moreI gave this review 5 stars as I think this is possibly the best coffee shop I have ever been to, granted I'm only a small time coffee expert with 2 doctorates in the making and brewing in the perfect cup, I have even accidentally created the holy grail with my finals project. Enough about my achievements, I think this coffee could have only been possible due the wonderful creature called Bryony, she danced around the coffee like a majestic creature with perfect motion created what was the best coffee ever. as I thought the creation of the coffee was complete, I was wrong, to my surprise this creature called Bryony levitated and sacrificed a series of small creatures one after another. finally she was able to summon the sprites from the underworld that provided the purest of virgin souls and injected them in to the beverage. Once I drank the coffee I suddenly felt rejuvenated and later found out my body had lost 10 years worth of age a great gift for the small price of whatever it cost.
This is why i have given it a 5 star review,
I am in awe that Starbucks was able to hire a sorcerer of this magnitude,
The sorcerer Bryony needs a raise for services and power she provides.
Kind regards,
A...
