Never ever buy a kitchen from this store. We’re about to enter the 9th month of waiting for the kitchen have been paying for during all those months. Order July 2017, installation – could be March 2018 who knows as delivery of kitchen cancelled again today – only found out by ringing after the delivery slot had passed. Finally realised of course that B&Q must get the full amount of money from the loan company straight away so they are quid’s in from the start and have no need at all to worry about installation or anything grubby like that as they already have the money and therefore no interest in any further service. Indeed, this is just the culmination of missed visits, cancelled installations, being told B&Q are going to deliver what they told us had been cancelled, no-one answering phone, having to go to a B&Q store and shout at staff till someone was called to deal with the issue as no one had called or followed up. Along the way have spoken to some very helpful staff who are just constantly defeated by the appalling technology they have to work with although equally have dealt with some complete cretins with no interest in helping customers whatsoever. My favourite is ‘High Level Complaints’. If you’ve found people in B&Q unhelpful already, just wait till you get to ‘High Level Complaints’. Whoever answers the phone there can never help, someone has to call you back and they don’t, you just go round in circles. So, if you are having problems, best advice is to go and shout at someone in a store as they will do something if just to stop you putting off other customers. Seems like someone is now taking responsibility for our problems but have no confidence that the system won’t defeat them again. Seems we are now at the maximum compensation level too so again no incentive for the system to prevent us getting a kitchen again. So please, please believe me, if you want a new kitchen go...
Read moreAppalling customer service. The store was disorganised and staff were generally unhelpful. We couldn't find any A-frame trolleys to pick up some large items and when we asked staff, we were simply told go look for them on the shopfloor. We had furniture boards cut to size in store and arranged for them to be delivered to us but the order details were entered incorrectly by Abbie meaning that we never received any of the delivery updates and ended up receiving brand new boards instead of the pre-cut ones. The delivery men who were an hour late were grumpy and rude when I queried the missing boards. There was also one board missing. I ended up ringing the store several times through the day trying to get this resolved but nobody would take ownership of the problem. A duty manager, Lou, grudgingly put through the £14.99 refund of the missing board at 20:45, just before the store shut. He ignored all my other complaints and did not attempt to resolve the issue of the incorrect items. He half-heartedly offered a giftcard as a gesture of goodwill, but only if we returned to the store to pick it up! I contacted customer services only to have the query redirected back to the store. Another duty manager, Kate, rang and offered to locate the missing pre-cut board so that it could be delivered to us for an exchange. I rang back a couple of hours later to get an update on delivery times but wasn't able to speak to Kate. I was informed by another member of staff that re-delivery could take anything from 1 to 3 weeks! Kate also never rung me back although I left a message requesting that she did. It has now been 3 weeks since we received the delivery of incorrect/missing items. The entire experience has been shambolic from the start and we certainly will not be using B&Q for any of our other home...
Read moreBig fan of B&Q Cribbs Causeway. It’s a massive store that pretty much has everything you need if you’re fixing up your home. Whether you’re doing some DIY bits or full on renovations, they’ve got you covered. The garden centre is really decent too loads of plants, tools, and outdoor gear. My dad especially loves that section. He could spend hours there.
They’ve got a huge range of BBQs, which is great in the summer, plus a good selection of lawnmowers if you're keeping the garden tidy. Inside, they offer bathroom and kitchen installs, which is handy if you're not up for doing it yourself. The tile section is massiv, so many styles and options to choose from. They also have loads of internal doors and even sell security cameras, which is a bonus.
The best bit for me is the paint department. It’s huge, with loads of colours, brands, and finishes. Plus, you can even get custom paint made with their colour matching machine super useful if you're trying to match an old shade or something you saw online.
Free parking is a win, and they’ve got solid building supplies for the trade folks, too. I also like the lighting section, lots of stylish options to pick from.
There are only two things that let it down a bit. there’s often a lack of staff around when you need help, and I really think they should offer some kind of skilled tradesman service. Like, if they had in house electricians, carpenters, or just general handymen you could book, that would be a game changer, and probably a money maker for them too.
All in all, it's a great place to shop for anything home or garden related. Just be ready to hunt down a staff member if you’ve...
