Saturday 27th November at the matinee showing of 9 to 5. We were in the VIP lounge not long after 13:00 and when the lady shouted that the show was due to start, along with everyone else, we made our way to the auditorium. We were directed by members of the team and were close behind a party of 6. We heard a staff member who had a head set on say, there is a six on the way and a 3. Once we reached our floor, the 6 went to door B and we went to door A. The lady at door A who clearly had no issue with our time and was going to let us in, but told us we were better going to door B for our seats and she took a wine glass from one of the group and poured it into a plastic tumbler. When we reached door B the group of 6 had just entered and we could hear the music begin. We were absolutely appalled to be told at this point we could not take our seats. We were late and would have to wait 14 minutes. I must admit my first thought was that the lady was having a laugh and was winding us up. Sadly this was not the case. Apart from completely undermining her colleague, she actually appeared to take pleasure in denying us entry. While we waited we saw another group go up to the next level and a third staff member arrived referring to us all as late arrivals. Which absolutely was not the case with us. We chose not to challenge this decision at the time for fear of being refused entry altogether. After 14 mins we were allowed to enter and were stunned to see how close our seats were to the door (1st circle Row A seats 21, 22 and 23) There was a dialogue scene taking place as we took our seats and there is no doubt that entry at this point caused much more disruption than if we had been allowed to take our seats at the same time as the group of 6 who were in front of us. During the show there were many members of the audience getting up and coming and going. Between us we have attended shows in Glasgow, Edinburgh and London and have never been treated in this way.
I completely understand that there are rules and have no issue with that, what I would like to know is why this strict and un reasonable rule was not mentioned to us at any time, there were ample opportunities from the emails sent before the show to our time in the VIP lounge or by the staff who were checking tickets and giving directions. Such a shame as this is a great venue and should have been a brilliant day out. I have emailed Eden Court but they have not even acknowledged...
Read moreCame for Mànran concert and it's my first time visiting Edens Court, but it won't br my last as I already have future events lined up.
The venue is beautiful, even the car drive to the venue going across the Loch banks is beautiful. The architecture is very modern and stylish, today just happened to be an extra event as a biking event begins tomorrow and so there were many tents on the outside to explore to do with cycling.
The venue is accessible and includes disabled parking for badge holders (like myself) and the badge holders get to park for free which is a nice touch.
The inside and main entrances are very wide and so very wheelchair, rollater and walking aid friendly, there are disabled toilets which I got to experience at half time of the show. These have all the necessary stuff along with some very nice hand soaps.
The theatre was accessible via ramp and so no stairs or blockages were in the way.
There is good and drink within Edens court, since the day was special there were places on the outside that we got some chips and a drink from. We did get ice cream at half time of the show which was nice and priced fairly.
The actual arena was bigger than I thought it would be, I was pleasantly surprised...good leg room and the seating is tiered which means everyone gets to see.
The venue staff were very friendly and Mànran were ofcourse magnificent. I very much enjoyed my evening. Edens court has 2 theatres and one is even a cinema so you can go wat h the latest movies aswell as your favourite musicals and live...
Read moreAbsolutely rubbish. My aunty was told off by staff for talking to much during a Tina Turner tribute act and due to the way she was treated refused to watch the rest of the show that she had payed for. Then I learnt later that I had been complained about for whistling....whistling at a concert? How terrible huh? Weren't allowed to whistle at the end of her songs (I was NOT whistling through out). Complained about for dancing, apparently I was talking to the people in front of me( I tripped over my mams bag and put my hand on the person in front of me to stop me falling down on top of him, which I then said sorry for) or talk apparently (others in the crowd were talking to but no it was us that got it). So so so disappointed and angry. For a Tina turner concert we were expected to sit down and just clap at the end of the songs as if we were at an opera. NEVER come to Eden court if you want to see a concert or gig. Get yourselves to the Iron Works as there is no point wasting your money at Eden...
