I’m not one for leaving bad reviews anywhere, but because of the strange experience here I’m reviewing so others are better prepared than we were. The good reviews previously seem to have been aimed at past management and are what lead us there. We visited for coffee and cakes and they were brought in polystyrene burger containers. I ordered two slices of Biscoff cake for the children but we were actually given one slice of cake, the top iced half in one container and the bottom half in another. When I questioned why there was just one slice divided in two I was told bluntly that each bit was a whole slice, before he stormed away. However, we could see the cake in the cafe and it was definitely one slice divided yet we were charged for two. The other cake ordered was a tiny piece of the edge of a banana and walnut traybake that was rattling around in the container. The staff member did say this was unacceptable and brought another. The coffee was almost cold, not even luke warm, and we were so disappointed as it was a Saturday afternoon of a weekend visit to Inverness. The staff were disinterested and non-communicative, so after he just walked off (we sat outside), there was no more communication with us at all. Lots of other cafes so I’d probably not risk it if you’re visiting, and sadly the staff probably...

Picture this: it’s 11:30AM, you haven’t eaten yet, and you’re in a hurry to return your rental car. You already tried to grab breakfast at another cafe but were unable and are now starving. You randomly decide to pop into this cafe because it was close and seemed quick. You then proceed to have the best sandwich of your life and nothing will ever top it.

I will be thinking about the Bacon, Brie, & Cranberry Toasty for the rest of my life. It greatly saddens me that I am but a sad American who will likely never be in Inverness again because that sandwich cured me of all of my ailments and immediately fixed my bad mood. I will forever fantasize about this meal. 11/10, could not...

I’ve been a long time visitor to the Cathedral cafe but despite really wanting to like the new ā€˜Cafe Ness’ I can’t do it.

Three times I’ve been in recently and experienced slow and indifferent service. I’ve been ignored at tables and at the counter by sometimes up to four staff at once, all desperately trying not to engage with customers.

Price wise at Ā£4 for a bacon roll it’s definitely at the upper end cost wise for Inverness which I wouldn’t mind paying, if only I can get someone to take my order....

It’s a real shame as previously it’s always been good and after what happened to the manager I wanted to carry on...

It was horrible! I hope never back here. I ordered french omelette and coffee latte. I have got raw liquid egg inside. It is dangerous with salmonella! I show it is waiter. She tell me it will change, but it was not change!!! Omelette was spicy with black pepper. In menu was not available information about spicy ingredients. I leaved hungry, because i can not eat it. Coffee latte was ok. It is first and last time, when i payed for not eatable food. Awful. :(

Nice cosy cafe round the back of the cathedral. Popped in for a lovely bowl of soup on a cold day. Advertise some business along the chalk board inside and offer ā€˜suspended coffee’ service. Good selection of cakes too which I will have to go back and sample!
