Great place for wildlife, bird watching and dog walks, with access across the train tracks to the River Thames towpath (leading to Bourne End [easterly] or Marlow [Westerly]). There are pubs along or nearby some of the walking routes, namely The Queens Head, The Kings Head and The Spade Oak. It is also possible to walk to The Bounty pub which sits right on the Thames opposite Bourne End Marina (walk further up to the footbridge, go over, then back on yourself on the Cookham Berkshire side). Read moreWe used the postcode on the website and directions, but didn't arrive at a country park instead it took us through a static caravan park!! We tried to walk our way round to finding the lakes, only to end up walking through muddy walkways through ugly bread bracken and brambles for 20mins only passing a small lake, no spectacular views or walks so gave up and returned back to car! Very disappointing as photos we'd seen online looked like a nice country park. Can only assume there must've been another...
Read moreJust for watching the lake, and it's a calm place with no crowds there. Will give you a feeling like a small forest with a pond in the centre. We went there at sunset, and got some nice pictures with reflections in the water.
