As a regular viewer of the TV show of the same name while I enjoyed my time at the venue I'm also a bit dissatisfied with a lot of things too.
When a friend told me such a place existed, I booked a time slot for the following day, its basically a climbing play park for all ages that has many different obstacles of varying difficulty that you can tackle at your own pace, Probably not a good idea to come here if its busy as only one person is allowed on a certain piece at a time and id have to count Id say... 20 in total so you might be waiting to do some obstacles...I would say you do have to be quite tall and have good reach to do a large majority of obstacles, not to mention a good body well suited for the likes of climbing.
Which leads me to my first negative point I have to leave about the place, 90 percent of the obstacles require good upper body strength to be able to complete, the TV show features a lot of agility obstacles like stepping stones, rope hangs and balance beams, and while this place does have some of those, they're either watered down or just plain too easy to make it worth the space that they use up.
On the other side of the coin, there's a few obstacles that make even a seasoned rock climber like me raise an eyebrow, I can do most of the obstacles as thankfully I'm tall and skinny, but I could imagine alot of guests struggling to complete these obstacles.
It does feature the warped wall if you are familiar with the show, (Basically a skateboard half pipe that you run up to climb) Thankfully this does have that in its true scale, both a replica from the one from the TV show as well as a junior one which isn't as high and isn't as steep for beginners and children.
They also feature an obstacle which I cant remember the name of, there's 2 walls facing each other close together and you have to use your hands and feet to grip the 2 sides to wall crawl to the other side, this was clearly designed with children in mind as my 6 foot tallness struggles to even fit inside the obstacle and had to use my feet and back to be able to grip the sides.
There is a soft play area too where you take your shoes off, its kind of meh in my opinion, just your usual bouncy castle kind of thing, nothing special, probably more designed for the younger attendees though it does come in handy to rest your body after working out on the difficult obstacles.
Pricing.... its damn expensive here, £15 per hour which doesnt include the socks which are £3 if you dont already have a pair, you can get food here but I noticed that it was about £6 for a slice of pizza... A SLICE OF PIZZA HOT DAMN!!!! Needless to say I don't think many people will be dining here considering the abundance of cheaper, better places to eat literally around the corner.
Its a fun time but kind of dissapointing for those looking for some actual "Ninja" obstacles like what you see...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWould be 5 stars if wasn't for food experience Booked for a fun day for me and my partner easy get tickets and everything explained when arrived lockers for your things provided use your own code toilets reasonably clean The centre is big and we had so much fun it got really busy and some kids do just stick to things and you can't get through the obstacles because kids are reusing the same obstacle rather then use the one way system and take one go so slightly annoying but their kids. The obstacles are really fun and very challenging in fact after half hour we felt like we been to the gym and was worn out here's to the food part now so we thought we get a drink baring in mind can't leave drinks around the course so need to go to seating area which is great we thought get a pizza slice and chips with a drink thinking it wouldn't take long and we can get back to our obstacles from waiting to order and getting food it TOOK 40 MINS I went to complain at this point to say it's not right that it's taken nearly half of our play time in which they said they have a party on which I stated that it's up to the establishment to make sure they can cater efficiently for party's as well as people who have come to play and eat and they never mention any waiting time before hand otherwise we would of had a drink and gone to eat after. I was offered a free drink which I declined as wanted to eat the food drink the drink we had and get back to the little time we had left then I got offered half back for the food which I agreed to at this point the manger said we should of been told their was a wait but I feel we lost a lot of time and ruined what for me would of been a really good experience and 5 stars if it wasn't for that we had to rush our food and drink to grab what was left of our time their if I was to come back again i wouldn't get food again! But as a business if you can't provide good service for both party's and other participants then you should close off for party's alone or state the waiting time we are all paying for the same service so therefore we should be all...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOverall we had a good time, but there are a number of specific caveats that could make or break your experience there.
Good: Giant inflatable section was really fun! Staff were very friendly and helpful. They also offered guidance on how to tackle the courses when we got confused or struggled. Place was clean and the course well maintained. Price to enter was reasonable and well worth it if you enjoy physical challenges. Their lockers were free, secure, and easy to use.
Not so good: We came with a really large group so cannot speak for the average experience, but the area where they give the pre-recorded safety briefing doesnāt work well when there are many people present. Everyone has to stand so people behind the first one or two rows cannot see the screen at all. It also wasnāt very loud so it was a struggle to hear it if you werenāt at the front close to the screen. The ninja course was really difficult and many of them required predominantly upper body strength. Sadly canāt recommend this place for the average person who hasnāt done that specific kind of training/conditioning, as I noticed even people who religiously go to the gym couldnāt really handle many of the obstacles (the inflatable section doesnāt have this issue though). I also wouldnāt recommend the ninja courses for kids since only the taller ones would be able to reach most of the hand holds. The ninja course doesnāt allow the use of chalk, which made the handholds very difficult to grip barehanded. We didnāt try the gloves, but they probably wouldāve helped so we would recommend others to get them if they can. The food quality was okay but expensive for what you get. We appreciated that they had options for dietary...
