We always call into any RNLI shops was passing but this was an whole new experience. You are able to access the life boat station through the gift shop and see close up one of the lifesaving boats & equipment. There is plenty to read on the walls giving the history of the RNLI as well as local stories. Although there were steps to climb to the next level you could still access the ground level by wheelchair & get close up to the boats. All in all it is well worth the visit. There is no charge but donations are always welcome or just buying a pen/pencil from the gift...
   Read moreThe former lifeboat station is used as a cafe, photo is of the roof from within. Still had a faint smell of machine workshop, but you can also sit out front.
as of summer 2024, there are at least 2 individuals with a mobile cafe, and visit here and open up. I'm not sure the times are fixed, probably weather dependent - so you see the door open and chairs out, or you don't.
