Yips Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in England

We have been coming to Yips for years and last night was the best meal I've ever had there, or at any Chinese. My wife and I took our 2 boys for a meal on a quiet Tuesday night. The service was really fast and really friendly. The food all came really fast too. We had half crispy aromatic duck, there was loads of sauce, which is what we usually finish off first, but there was still some left, you get a LOT of duck in half and we struggled to get through it, but it was beautifully cooked.

Then on the main course: We had a beef in XO sauce from the specials board, chilli pork, sweet and sour chicken and special chow mein, with steamed rice and salt and pepper chips for sides. The food was amazing. The winner dish for us was the sweet and sour chicken, it came in a really light batter with a really tasty sauce (best sweet and sour we have ever had) but all the dishes were so tasty, everything got eaten. The salt and pepper chips were also just the right side of seasoned as often they can be over powering with seasoning.

We had a great night, the restaurant is lovely and bright and clean, staff friendly and service was fast. What more can...

Having eaten at Yips a number of times over the years I have always found the food consistent in its quality. The kitchen staff always prove their worth and serve quality Chinese food and the restaurant menu is priced acceptably. Having visited many other Chinese restaurants around the country I have never been disappointed by a meal at Yips and as such I will continue to visit when in Bridlington. The food is always cooked well and with the vegetarian options that are also available this restaurant serves all diets and requirements. I have always found the front of house restaurant staff pleasant, engaging and helpful. Also, they are attentive but not overbearing which allows a meal to be fully enjoyed. The restaurant is a medium sized but pleasant eatery that is not overly formal but appropriately relaxed. Consequently, it provides an excellent eating experience on the seafront whilst providing quality Chinese food in a pleasant surrounding. Therefore, I will continue to visit when in Bridlington as an excellent meal is always guaranteed....

Where do I start.........I placed an order for 2 x Kung-po chicken one with NO nuts. Singapore chow mein, fried rice, curry sauce and a portion of chips. When I arrived to pick up my order I noticed it was incorrect. On the receipt they had done 2 x sweet and sour chicken the rest was correct. The order was taken away to be rectified. After waiting a while the order came out and I was shown the receipt and told that the mistake had been rectified. I opened the bag at home and saw it was completely wrong and a meal missing. There was no Singapore chow mein, half a portion of chips and 2 x sweet and sour chicken, both with huge amount of NUTS. I rang to complain and was told to come back and laughed at down the phone as they admitted they had made the mistakes. The whole lot went in the bin. Poor customer service, if I could give this a place a 0 I would. Even a 1 star is too much. I will never order...
