Wellgate Centre — Attraction in Great Britain

Imagine a dystopian hellscape of a shopping center. Nearly every parking space has a large concrete ceiling support, protruding into it. The escalators to the third floor haven't been fixed in years, in what feels like an almost purposeful act of neglect in an attempt to contain some great evil that lies beyond. The girl at the nail bar outside poundland looks wistfully at members of the public as they trudge by, on their way to what must be the world's largest branch of the british heart foundation. A pretend store called The Sofa Center is on the ground floor, with what I assume are paid actors, milling about, talking loudly about beige monstrosities that they aren't going to buy. As you walk further toward the main doors, your gaze is drawn to the foreign gentleman, his face buried in a mobile phone, trying desperately to make time go faster using will alone, while people walk past the the floor space he's rented to display the plethora of tatt he's selling like dream catchers and huge fluffy blankets with classy pictures on them like tigers or unicorns. The dole office is in the same building, but in a twist of architectural genius, or deliberate government conspiracy, you can't conveniently access it internally and must trudge outside and round the corner, to find that the lift is out of order on a suspiciously permanent basis, with 8 flights of stairs needing climbed to access the office that contains the soulless minions...

The Wellgate shopping mall is a good place. It has a lot of good wee shops in there,but if you're looking for high end fashion or a pretentious Apple store then maybe don't look here. But if you need stores with great deals on many different kinds of things then you might have found it here. With stores like; Home Bargains, B&M Bargains, Savers, Poundland, The Works* ,The Entertainer toy store, Iceland, a McDonald's, Bright House, Pavers , Claire's, a few Stalls (for Phone accessories,beauty &nail's, body piercing jewelry & rock n Roll/alt accessories and jewelry, vaping,Sky), Superdrug, A large cafe/restaurant in the center of the 2nd floor. Selling hot and cold foods, sweet tasty muffins,coffee,tea and hot chocolate & juice. Sit in or takeaway. I think there's highchairs. A safe children's play area. A Virgin media Store, An independent baby-toddler clothes store, British Red Cross charity furniture store. There's a Library-with internet access. you can enter through the Wellgate during opening hours on the top floor or, you can enter through a separate door at the back/Victoria Rd. Entrance/Exit. There's signs there though. It won't be long until the all new T.G. Hughes opens too.BTW ,* The Works- This is 1 of my faves! So, there is definitely a big choice. All the stores sell amazing top brand's. Can you believe I am NOT being paid for this very detailed...

Only giving it 5 stars coz it has home bargains in it and band m and Poundland the rest apart from toyshop and savers is practically shut down home bargains is like drag me out here before I blow all my pay coz it has such so many good stuff cheap as can be....it has lost its life feel from WEN I used to skip school and go thru it..it used to hv a beautiful fountain to throw coins in and the clock used to chime and was much more populated than it is now...there used to be much more shops like each floor felt like it had 12 shops on it but now it has a charity shop x2 a gym that's not really part of the wellgate Iceland savers superdrug has closed down and moved into savers sand u hv the entertainment shop toys stationary...it is like a former shadow of itself....feels empty it still has a lovely library upstairs but like I said the toy shop bandm savers with superdrug moved in there Iceland Poundland I think it has a subway not sure and charity shops x2 at top floor but it's not the same wellgate I remember full of life and always populated but the small amount of shops it does has are good.... just lost that magic feel WEN I used to skip school and throw coins in fountain....but it's still 5 stars to me home bargains and Poundland are awesome enough to make it a five star rating altho Poundland things are now 1.25 1.75 ???????🙄so I don't understand why it's still...
