On my travels around the UK I try to find Wetherspoons as they are consistently good value but this place was not upto usual standards. As it was a Thursday Curry night I ordered Beef Madras. The lad taking my order did his job right, asking me if I wished to upgrade from plain naan to garlic naan, which I declined but I did add the 2 onion bhajis, which were an additional payment. When the meal arrived it was missing the bhajis which I pointed out to the waitress. She said they run out of bhajis and offered a refund for them. I was then politely asked by the supervisor/manager to accompany him to the bar area as he is not allowed to touch my credit card for the refund. I pointed out to him that my meal was also missing the naan bread and he said that they were out of naan breads but had substituted 2 poppadoms instead. ( It's difficult to mop up curry sauce with crispy poppadoms!) . When I got back to my table I realised that the mango chutney which is also part of the dish was also absent but by this time I was past caring. To cap it all I had 2 pints of very decent Titanic IPA and then ordered and paid for a third pint via the app. A waitress informed that they had run out of Titanic so I asked her for one of the other draught IPAs. She came back to inform that they had run out of all IPAs so I settled for a pint Abbot Ale after which I left earlier than I'd originally intended. A very...

My baked potato with cheeses and beans was a spoonful of beans and a pinch of cheese, it was frozen as well. Staff need to learn manners, my friend got chicken breast bites that was supposed to come with a sweet sticky soy sauce, instead she got 2 portions of chicken, we called a lady over and asked about the sauce, she came back and told us sorry but we've none left. I don't know why this wasn't told to us when the chicken bites came out at first. She then named the other sauces that could be given, my friend asked for BBQ sauce. She then waited about 10minutes and still no sauce, we called a lady over who shouted at us that she was busy, instead of just politely saying I will be with you in a moment. She then proceeded to shout loudly at a member of staff how to do a task, when someone eventually came over we asked about the BBQ sauce and was given a bottle. To top it off, after we'd finished our meal so another 10minutes later, so maybe 20minutes after we had originally asked about the sauce, another member of staff came out with 2 little dishes of BBQ sauce and said sorry about your wait. Well you were a bit...
Read moreWell as I am still shocked after our negative experience last night in this pub I'll write it down. I've worked in the same industry for 12 yrs but was never ever allowed to grab a glass from a customer's hand what's more to be aggressive with them esp if it is a woman. The customer is always right. If I pay for a drink I want to finish it in a pleasant way. If I want to talk to the manager and explain him my issues he at least should apologize which he never did in our case. This kind of behaviour should not be allowed in any such case. They even called the police who by the way were surprised as we obviously seemed decent citizens so they actually advised us to make an official complaint which will hopefully result in a little education among the mannerless undereducated staff. I understand they can lose their licence - which I hope they will eventually- if a customer doesn't leave in time but there's a way of asking a customer properly....oh btw they forgot to bring one of our food as well and another one was extremely salty....very bad...
