Not being from Telford and never visiting the 'Arena' before I was surprised to find it is actually a bit of a field fenced off, with perfect views from outside the 'Arena' who needs tickets! Attended the UB40 concert tonight, it rained most the night. Now Telford Tickets state no chairs or umbrellas allowed yet there were god knows how many obstructing views, had I known that no one cares if you take an umbrella in I would have taken mine in, instead of getting soaked (pics added) Maybe that needs to come off the website! Security has to be the worst I've encountered at a gig and I've been to a fair few. No look inside my bag, yet I had to hand it to the security guy who simply handed it back! None of us were searched you could have literally walked in there with anything. Gold circle well who manned that? I didn't have a ticket for GC but walked straight into it no one checked. As with all venues queue for the bar was horrendous then in the heavy rain being given a cardboard cup holder which soaked in seconds and split was hardly ideal for you to get back to your spot successfully with the 4 pints you've just paid through the nose for. Several food vans not a vast choice. Not enough porta loos but that's often a problem in most places. Ali Campbell's UB40 was awesome but the venue was shocking wouldn't rush back there for a gig...
Read moreUB40 gig good event Shame about the weather. My mom became unwell but paramedics wasn't helpful she was dehydrated & feeling dizzy, they didn't offer her any water the paramedic told her to go & buy a bottle from one of the vendors & to go home to bed as it was passed her bedtime, the other paramedic was more interested in how much I paid for my t-shirt that l purchased from there than the young lady they were attending too. Also l thought you weren't allowed to take brollies into the event!!?? Which made it difficult to see anything & which provoked a angry mob at the front of stage. I've been to plenty of festivals where you can take chairs but quite surprised this event won't allow it especially those who are elderly & in need of one, l was told Shrewsbury...
Read moreWent to NDubz concert at the weekend. The constant smell of cannabis was overwhelming and quite frankly disgusting. Never seen so many intoxicated people either. I love NDubz and I did enjoy it to a point. There were so many support acts on before they actually came on stage. This meant more drinking time. I witnessed people vomiting, falling over and NDubz actually stopped as there was fighting amongst the crowd. The atmosphere was quite scary and intimidating. A few sniffer dogs would have had a field day!!!...
