I came to the first night of the spooky extravaganza so my review is based on this night.(28th October 2021)
Upon entry the admission staff were incredible making sure I knew what I was in for and all the events throughout the night.
Walking into wonderland the lights and decorations were fantastic not too scary but give the perfect atmosphere for the night.
The roaming staff were amazing, they blended in great until they screamed down your ear giving you the fright of your life. Goldie locks followed me for a short while but I got to stroke the very blood stained bear. The skeleton was also really good. Not speaking a word even after they walked beside me linking arms before walking away and horrifying a poor family by creeping up behind them and shouting.
Throughout the maze was the best part of the experience. The queen of hearts guarding the entrance was amazing. The illusion you we’re safe walking through the first half until you got to the middle made the tweedles, caterpillar, cards, and Alice even more scary with the feeling that BOO! would come from around the corner.. even behind you wasn’t safe. The caterpillar was petrifying so massive props to whoever positioned the people and the person behind the mask. Their creepy nursery rhymes and laugh was remarkable and paralysed me with fear waking through before I got to them.
Toby’s freak show was great! His bed of nails, scissors act and stapling playing cards was great for everyone watching and freaked most adults out too.
The trick or treat house was amazing the butcher especially who’s act and costume was so suiting to his performance. The ghost busters did a great job of keeping everyone in the trick or treat line was within their time slot and all orderly.
The fireworks and all the characters lined up was a perfect ending for the night, the fireworks were magnificent and seeing all the actors doing their thing really tied the whole event together
10/10 would highly recommend for all ages. A really good night without a doubt, even the poor weather didn’t effect the experience and the characters were rocks throughout the whole event. Props to the staff of wonderland who made the night...
Read moreThe website and marketing of Wonderland, doesn't do it justice. The website should really have better photos. It was amazing. Our children loved the daytime Halloween event, the rides and the fire breathers.
The reason why I only gave 4 stars, is because the parking information was terrible. Fortunately, my husband's parents were able to meet him and our children, in Telford shopping centre and lead the long way to Wonderland.
This is not suitable for disabled patrons, with mobility issues such as myself: the long walk from Telford shopping centre would have been difficult enough, but inside Wonderland, it was very uneven. So much so, that our 6 year old fell over 3 times. Lots of walking, hills etc.
The Halloween event was not clearly advertised.
Only because friends recommended it, we booked tickets. Otherwise, we wouldn't have understood what Wonderland really looked like or what the Halloween experience would have been like.
It was trick or treating (walk through course) of all the cute, quaint little Alice in Wonderland themed, houses, which each had a member of staff, in fancy dress, playing a role of a pirate or scary woman guarding a bowl of goodies, or various other "jump out at you" or "make noise at you" characters, to make you "jump/jolt".
It was sectioned off so that it was almost like a tour, to ensure that you got to see all the amazingly decorated Halloween themed scenes (cobwebs, incredible fake graveyard etc).
More information at the entrance/ticket office should have been given than an incorrect location that didn't tally with their internal signs and a trick or treat bag. Then when we got to the carousel in the middle of a square, where there's a little train ride that loops, it wasn't clearly indicated where "it" started, or what "it" was. We summised that it must be a trick or treat type thing.
My husband repeatedly said the marketing person could make a real improvement to their website. They could be so much busier everyday, just by better photos, more detailed explanation,...
Read moreFirst time visiting today as a family of 4 and we had a fantastic time. We had been told about this place a few times from family and friends but our daughter was at the age at the time where she would not have had a clue of what she was seeing. She is 2 1/2 now and she loved every second of it, there was so much for her to see, she was asking questions, we were explaining to her about the fairy tales we had started telling her about so for a young child you can really make it magical. Especially when She spotted Snow White, She remembered the story and was so excited to meet her. It was really lovely as she was so friendly. It was Mascot day too so she got to meet her favourite characters - Marshall and Peppa Pig and was over the moon. There were others like Iggle Piggle, Upsy Daisy, Pj Masks ect in the houses with times on a board outside. She loved all the little rides, She led the way and we followed. We got 2 free passes for the kids to come back again for free so we are going to book again for Halloween. I've heard great things about October, and we are also booking Winter Wonderland. I couldn't believe it when one of the staff told us it had been there for nearly 30 years, i think the attraction houses are perfect, the 'worn' look give them their characters. We ate in one of the cafe's by Humpty Dumpty and had a lovely meal. The only downfall i would say is that the toilets were a bit grim and outdated, and the staff manning the rides were all miserable. However, the mascots, Snow White & Red Riding Hood, the guy on the ticket booth and girls in the cafe's were really pleasent. Not a massive downfall and didn't disrupt our day. The Maze was great fun, the soft play was a nice suprise as it was free too, and it was lovely to see so many kids join in with Snow White & Red Riding Hood dancing and having the time of their lives so overall it was a really...
