I absolutely do not recommend this place. My girlfriend and I ordered dinner – Yaki Udon and Shirodashi Pork Belly Ramen. Setting aside the fact that the dishes themselves were mediocre both in appearance and taste (which is subjective), unfortunately, in one of the dishes (Yaki Udon), we found a piece of metal that my girlfriend nearly swallowed. The piece of metal looked like it came from a wire scouring pad used for kitchen cleaning, so I can only guess how it ended up in the dish.
We reported the incident to Deliveroo, as we ordered the food through their app. They informed us that such issues are taken very seriously by both Deliveroo and the restaurant. I was asked to send a photo of the object and specify which dish it was found in. Subsequently, someone from the restaurant contacted us and requested that we bring the piece of metal to the restaurant (at my own expense and in my own free time). I agreed, as it seemed professional and as though they genuinely cared about resolving the issue.
After delivering the piece of metal to the restaurant, I was assured that someone from management would contact me directly to address the situation and propose a solution. However, this is where the problems began – the restaurant never contacted me, even though it’s now been about 1.5 months since the incident. I had to repeatedly follow up with Deliveroo, who assured me several times that the restaurant would get in touch within two days. This back-and-forth went on for about two weeks, during which I practically had to beg for at least a refund for the dish that contained the metal.
Eventually, I received a refund for the entire order, but it was issued by Deliveroo, not the restaurant. The restaurant itself never contacted me, nor did I receive any apology for the incident. Even after taking time out of my day to personally visit the restaurant, incurring additional expenses like parking fees (since the restaurant is in the city center), my issue was completely ignored and swept under the rug. No one seemed to care at all about what I found in the food.
I’m extremely disappointed. I do not recommend this place. Their approach to customer service is appalling, if not downright dismissive. I usually don’t leave negative reviews, but in this case, I couldn’t let it slide and felt compelled to share my experience to warn others about the lack of professionalism at this...
Read moreMy worst experience in Wagamama in Telford yesterday evening. 12 of us(6Adult 6Children) were in Wagamama around 5.15pm. The beginning was fine, just a little bit wait for the staff to come over for our order, the food was coming without any cutlery, so we asked 4 times, they not busy like crazy, still have few empty table, but still takes long time to be arrived. we oreder a juice(Apple+Spinach), takes ages to come, when it came, you can clearly see have made it long time ago, and the taste was different with first one we had, so we asked for changed the new one, the staff came back said the they ran out the spinach. The chicken gyoza was uncook which was cold inside. I order the teriyaki beef, came in without kimchi and teriyaki sauce, they did not mention they ran out the kimchi when I order, and the teriyaki sauce I ask 2 different staff and never came. Finally the Manager came to apologize for what had happen and sort out my teriyaki sauce. My friend order a chicken katsu curry for takeway, the staff told my friend they will bring the dish and takeaway box, and we can put in by ourself, and then the meal came in with a plate, and the we told the staff we would like it as takeaway, so the staff went back, after while came with takeaway bowl without any takeaway bag. At the end of our meal, no staff came,so we go forward to ask for the bill once, and didnt come after about 15 mins, and I went to ask again, the staff asked me did the manager came to our table, I said yes, and he asked did the manager said will take out any food from the bill? I said no, so the bill finally came, when we double check the bill, found out have charge our juice twice, so my friend went to tell the manager, Manager came back with the new bill had discount for us. The only thing I happy with is the Lady manager was really polite and really try to sort out the problem. I was always love to go to Wagamama, but yesterday was my...
Read moreking into Wagamama in Telford felt like stepping onto a set where Quentin Tarantino decides to shoot a feel-good comedy. It was my quest for the day: to dive headfirst into a bowl of ramen and resurface with a tale worth telling. And oh, what a tale I have!
Atmosphere: The place buzzes with an energy that’s as infectious as a viral cat video. The decor? Imagine if a Zen garden and a modern art gallery had a baby. It’s quirky, it’s chic, and it makes you want to sit down and order everything on the menu, just to see if the food matches the vibe. Spoiler alert: It does.
Service: The staff here are less like waiters and more like culinary ninjas, darting in and out with dishes that make your taste buds do the cha-cha. They’re quick, they’re efficient, and they’ve got a sense of humor that could make even the grumpiest diner crack a smile. Ask them for a recommendation, and you’ll feel like you’re in on the world’s tastiest secret.
Food: Where do I begin? The menu is like a treasure map, and every dish is X marks the spot. The Chicken Katsu Curry is a masterpiece, a perfect symphony of crunchy, savory, and a little bit of “Where have you been all my life?” And the ramen? Let’s just say it’s like diving into an ocean of flavor on a surfboard made of noodles. It’s an adventure, an experience, a culinary hug that whispers, “You’re gonna be okay.”
Conclusion: In a world filled with choices, Wagamama Telford stands out like a lighthouse guiding the hungry and the adventurous to safe harbor. It’s more than just a meal; it’s a journey. A journey filled with laughter, flavor, and maybe a little bit of noodle splash-back. So, if you’re looking for a place that feeds your stomach and your soul, paddle your way to Wagamama. You won’t be disappointed, but you might be a...
