Omg what can I say???? Saw Wild Woods while driving through guildford back in February. Attempted to call to make a booking but could never get through. Gave up on the idea but thought to just make the journey on the off chance with the kids yesterday. After finally locating the reception (walk straight passed it 1st time) we were told we were too late to do the adult course (was 2 minutes past 4) as the computer system wouldn't allow a booking. However a wonderful guy names James came to our rescue and got us booked in. I was totally not prepared for what came next.
Had I known what I had just paid to put myself through I would have definitely sat that one out.
Staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. There was lots of encouragement and jovial banter which falsely lulled me into thinking it wouldn't be quite be so bad. Oh how wrong I was.
Well after getting around the 1st part which was challenging enough we were greeted by the very funny and friendly Rebecca. Was so glad to see her and the sense of achievement was so overwhelming that after a quick toilet break (trust me you'll need one) stupidly I felt like some kind of super hero and made the ascent to the next level. Well let's just say it was there where I discovered the fragility of my own mortality and almost found my conversion to any faith that may get me out of there alive. Wow wow wow. Now not being one to chicken out of things easily (especially with your children ahead fearlessly rising to the challenge) I can honestly say I have no clue how I did that.
My fear of heights coupled with the need to seriously not die while negotiating wobbly ropes and planks and tyres and whatever else was up there (it's all a bit fuzzy now) brought me so far out of my comfort zone it was awful. However a couple of bruises later and with very sore hands (tip as an after thought: bring some grippy gloves) we saw the lovely Rebecca again waiting for us to reach the end. My gosh the sense of achievement is so overwhelming. Felt like I was floating. Then yet again, (you'd think I'd learn right???) I ascended further up again to the zip wire. While descending down and passing the all the tree top obsticles I'd just conquered I thought to myself "BOX TICKED" (no need to do that ever again). Overall conclusion: great day out. Highly recommend. Would definitely take the kids again but next time extend invitation to wider family and friends. This would be a great activity for a larger group. Now that I'm home (safe and alive), the feeling of accomplishment has got me feeling like I might even do it again. Total laugh and the banter from staff just adds to the experience. Would give more stars as a 5/5 doesn't give it the credit it's due. Thank you James, Rebecca, Dan, Sebastian, the lovely guy at reception and the others whose names I failed to get. You were all just brilliant. Well done....

Read moreThis is my fourth or fifth time visiting Wild Wood Adventure in Guildford. I've come annually since my lad was 8 or 9, he's now approaching 13 and it's been a great place for him to develop his confidence. He started on the kids courses (which are great) and has now graduated to the extreme course. The facilities are excellent, and the staff are too. Every member of staff yesterday were superb, the person who checked us in was friendly and helpful, and then the team of Becky, Jess and Miles looked after us brilliantly on the course. The safety briefing was clear and comprehensive without being excessive, and we had a brilliant time. One benefit over some Go Ape courses is that you connect your "safe-roller" once at the start of each course, and are permanently attached from there until the course ends, which is safer and more efficient than at Go Ape where you have to clip/unclip at each element on the course. I highly recommend Wild Wood Adventure...
