2nd visit November 2023 - after refurbishment we thought we'd give it another go but there was no improvement. Waited nearly an hour for food for one dish to be wrong and asked for well done meat as pregnant and it came out bloody/pink, had to ask 3 times for it to be well done! Veg was hard and uncooked. Ended up eating cold food and alone as the rest of group had finished. Was told it would be another hour for deserts so we just left. We will not visit again can't believe how bad it is here don't know how there are any good reviews the food is awful *1st visit 2022 * Awful. Thursday steak night but no steak? No ales? No pies, no Mac and cheese, Coffee machine broken? The list goes on! Starter arriving after finished main courses. One main came after everyone else had ate theirs. A very unassuming place to eat. I have always passed this pub assuming it was local pub that doesn't do anything special in terms of food.

I, we could not have been more wrong.

After a great session swimming in the Guidlford Lido, a swim buddy n I decided we needed to go for lunch. A fellow swimmer who lives locally recommended this place being a minute or twos drive from the Lido. Well. You have a parking for free as long as you log it on the screen in pub at the bar. The inside as well as outside space was vast. Much bigger than you would think.

They have an indoor pizza oven on display where they make fresh on demand pizza.

They have a vast menu that accommodates gluten free and more.

They work by table numbers to place your orders, so make sure you secure your table and number to go to the bar and order.

Very friendly staff and chefs who take pride in prepping their salads and more. How lovely to spend time thinking of how they prep and present even the simple dishes, like a salad.

The food was tasty and was more than expected. A good price too. Generous servings. Worth a visit and free parking is a bonus in the just about centre of the lovely town...

Today was supposed to be a super fun day and it ended up being terrible. We tried to book at the pub and called, and they just said we could go and take advantage of the empty tables. Arriving at the place, with 11 people, the attendant said we could drink but could not serve us lunch. We ordered a drink and were served in a very bad mood. After about 40 minutes we tried to order at least fries and the waitress refused. but the other tables were being served normally. According to the attendant, our order would not be accepted as there were 11 people. ,but we could and were willing to separate people into 3 tables (because there were empty tables) , but she refused and said that our request would not be accepted. It was a huge disappointment, as we just wanted to enjoy a friend's birthday. , with drinks and food and it was not necessary for us to be at the same table.
