Beyond disappointed. I remember Burrito Loco in its prime, back when it was within Guildford Town. It has been a few years since then, as they moved to Guildford Spectrum and we just never visited the spectrum.
So I was SUPER excited when we went to visit today, after swimming. When Burrito Loco was within Guildford Town, it was lovely little place, you essentially made your own Burrito by picking your fillings fresh from a counter. Now? Now it's just a basic bland menu, barely more than 4 different options. You cannot pick your own anymore, they don't even serve their beautiful beef brisket as a filling anymore! No refried beans, nothing!
I was already gutted over this, but gave them a chance, I ordered their Loaded chips, and even paid an extra whole £2 for Guacamole on top. Guacamole that was basically still a whole piece of avocado because they hadn't smashed it up properly.
The food was tasteless, bland. Like.. I can't even stress how devastating it is to visit a place that once had the best food in the area, become so SO bad. I miss the old Burrito Loco, that was full of taste and well worth the money.
Today we paid £40+ for some soggy chips topped with dry pork, sad quacamole , some nachos (Which were fine) and a Burrito that was thin, dry and tasteless... and possibly some...
Read moreReally awful experience ordering this evening. Order 8078 on Deliveroo, ordered at 18:30 got the food at 19:40, and it was stone cold and the boxes and food squashed. Brownie was placed loose just thrown on the top of the bag. Was a regular customer, won't be ordering again.
EDIT: The owner tracked me down on Facebook telling me the restaurant prepared it perfectly, it's all Deliveroo's fault, and to take this review down. Quite frankly unbelievable.
To add some detail if they want to play hardball, a burrito ordered with brown rice was delivered with white rice, the Deliveroo driver must have done that, the brownie had no packaging, the Deliveroo driver must have decided to nab that, and a large burrito being placed on top of a flimsy paper box inside the Burrito Loco bag, he must have not been busy and decided to move the items about in the bag before taking it out for delivery, resulting in the rest of the order being squashed.
But of course, I, as a paying customer who got stone cold food after an hour for £16 (not offered a full refund or replacement order I should add), am in the wrong, as the owner checked the cameras and it's entirely my own and the Deliveroo drivers...
Read moreOften visit in the breaks during Flames games. The staff routinely have 0 idea whats going on and the site is poorly run. Frequently tills have to be shut for a few mins and orders paused because the till staff are trying to work out how to serve a coffee or just seem to get overwhelmed and need a break. The site would run significantly better with a 3rd person by the tills to server drinks, food etc.
The core issue is the lack of any management, the "manager" (tall bald guy in a grey shirt) delights in finding random tasks to do at peak times. Favourites he likes doing when a large queue arrives is folding empty boxes up at the back, randomly just looking in the fridge, or legitimately one time spending 9 minutes to slice a single tomato.
Unfortunately there is little choice for dining at Spectrum so people are forced to go there for food. To any owners reading this you could make significantly more money if someone actually tried to organise a shift during peak times. Often people give up in the queue because of the wait.
Staff on the tills try be friendly but very rarely have any clue what day it is.
