Guildford College — Local services in Guildford

Went here for a two tasters, first off all the tutor for travel and tourism was incredibly friendly and a very nice man. I also had one for catering and hospitality, still surprises me that the college would have me come in for 2 tasters on the same day. The tutor running the catering and hospitality was so rude. When I arrived after lunch she was like ‘WHY ARE YOU LATE!’ Earlier on in the day I went in with a support friend as I was scared to come in (I have autism)and the lady on reception said she will pass on a message. (Which she did not) At the same time the group for travel and tourism said oh it’s this way. In my session I got a phone call and a voicemail from the lady as I’ve raised above saying ‘why aren’t your here’ I won’t recommend comming here go some where else. She also seemed not to care when I was asking for directions out of the college. She was like oh it’s this way you’ll find it, look for the way out signs. Luckily someone else showed me...

I just finished the art & design foundation year. In a nutshell, DO NOT send your children to this college, especially to do art and design. The organisation was appalling, and the support, or lack there of is even worse! Me and all of my classmates were almost constantly frustrated because we weren’t being listened too, or respected. The photography students didn’t have a replacement photography teacher once the previous one had left. The head of the photography department is a FINE ART graduate!!!!!!!! If anyone stood up to the teacher they were insulted or given even less support. This was an awful course, that lots of us had to pay for, and actually did worse for our mental health than anything. Well well well... First of all, I got enrolled onto the wrong level IT course. They put me on the level 2 and 1 month later looked at my GCSE grades again and put me onto the level 3 course meaning I was about 5 weeks behind the rest of the class. Also, they keep changing the timetable so a lot of the time I have no idea where my lesson even is. I am writing this in the library where my class has been sent to finish our game making assignment (This room doesn't have the right software that allows us to do our assignments which are due today).
