Yes it is a mammoth task, yes it is going to take a long time and yes it is going to cost a fortune but YES it is worth doing! What is great is talking to the enthusiastic people who volunteer there - as much (or as little) information as you could possibly wish for about the spitfire and aircraft restoration (we ended up chatting about aircraft safety factors and engine mounting arrangements - not everyone's cup of tea but this is the place to come if you like these sort of chats).
