Went for some food at around 5.40pm ordered my food via the app at 5.47pm thinking I’ll have time to eat my food and be heading home by 6.30pm. My drink turned up really quickly so I assumed my food would turn up. When it didn’t turn up I thought it’s because they were busy although it didn’t look it. It was only when the couple on the table behind me got their food I realised something was wrong (they turned up 10 minutes after I did). I called over who I presumed to be the head waiter to let him know that my food hadn’t arrived to which he asked to see my receipt so he could check my order. The only credit I would give here is that he showed me where to find the receipt on my app as it wasn’t emailed to me. He then proceeded to check what happened to my food. My order was found on a table in the garden where no one was sat. He then said as the food was cold they would re do my order so that I would have hot food. I then waited a further 10-15 minutes for my re-ordered food, I wasn’t even prioritised over the newer customers. When my food arrived nearly 40 minutes after I first ordered it, I said to the ‘head waiter’ that I wasn’t happy with this wait and that everyone on the tables around me were getting food ordered correctly and on time. I was then told that he was sorry and that it was new staff, the staff that managed to find the other tables around me with no problems. Again, I said I wasn’t happy, just to be given a half hearted apology, which isn’t really acceptable. The only reason I didn’t ask to see the manager was that I was now running late because I had to wait so long for my food.

Visited today with my daughter. Table was sticky so I wiped it myself. She enjoyed her pizza. Poor attempt at a healthy side though with awfully cut cucumber & tomatoes rammed into a ramekin. My curry was tasty, rice was cold, poppadom was soggy, naan bread ok but tough. Onion bhajees and samosa sides were cold & not worth the extra. Drinks finally arrived halfway through our meal. When we finished our meal we used the ladies before leaving. I am appalled at the state of the facilities. The sinks were covered in black/pink slime. The toilet bowls were the same and some had what appeared to be vomit splattered around the bowls. The light fittings were thick with dust. The windows were covered in mould. I was on my way to an appointment so I didn't have time to wait to see a member of staff as the bar was busy so I thought I would e-mail to report this. That is when I discovered that there is no way to submit a complaint with photos, so here they are.

It is exactly what it is. A pub that serves inexpensive food and drinks. It's not a quiet pub, it's noisy with people talking, both excited and grumpy children (and adults) The food is usually hot, not a lot of it, but enough to satisfy hunger. Rooms are lovely with high decorative ceilings, harking back to its original glory days. It's a bit cramped with a few too many tables, so you do feel a bit hemmed in. Service is fast on the food delivery, which is expected for the pre-cooked foods, only thing cooked to order is pizza! There is a courtyard out back, rarely full, though. Staff are friendly and helpful. Toilets are situated both upstairs and downstairs. I don't know about the men's, but the ladies are very opulent and luxurious! Coffee machines with free refills are a life saver when you're being walked off your feet shopping when shopping is not your favourite thing!

On Saturday as most Saturdays are for us we go into the William Owen for a few drinks and something to eat, this last Saturday 02/04/2022 we went inland had a couple of drinks before ordering a meal, I had gammon jacket potato and peas with eggs, it was atrocious, the peas were like bullets the gammon was very grisly and overall I could not eat it. A gentleman staff member came to take our plates away and asked if there was a problem so I explained, approx 5mins later a female staff member came and asked what was wrong and agreed to refund the meal. I am a disabled person so only use the disabled toilet in the said establishment, so went to use it and found it absolutely disgusting so I complained to a member of staff who said she would deal with the matter, the annoying thing was that I had had to make the same complaint the week before, it was 2pm and the board in the toilets had not been signed since 9am. I am absolutely appalled with this establishment and also found out that many others had complained about the meals. From a...

Went in for lunch on two separate occasions, over the last week. It was extremely busy which is good but on both occasions the tables were not clean and there was no one available to clean them. The condiments were all empty and left dirty. The food on the first occasion was good and very well priced and arrived after a lengthy but not unreasonable amount of time. However the next time we went for lunch we were told there would be a 20 min wait for food (again not unreasonable due to the pub being very busy0, however after 45 min we asked when our food was arriving and were told with a veiled, somewhat disingenuous apology that no time could be given they were doing their best and everyone was in and I quote "in the exact same situation". We explained we had a meeting but the young lady became quite belligerent and seemed uninterested. The other tables around us told us they had a very similar experience and were not happy. So we will left without our meal and were completely...
