Disappointed my partner said she used to love going there.. We stood there waiting a good 20mins inside the door.. Once seated and ordered the food took atleast 40 mins, we had all this time waiting with a 2 yrs old.. Finally got our food that was not very hot and the steak we asked for medium and it was almost still alive on our plates by this time we had waited to long we couldn't even be bothered mention this as we did not want to wait even longer, That's my first and last time in there.

Hoenstky cnat fault this pub for an afternoon stop off and cheeky coffee. Great to rest the legs and service yourself up for a drive home or more shopping. It's very affordable - coke and coffee less than £5 rare in this day and age. I've never eaten from here yet but tthe menu looks great and the food very cheaply priced.

Nice pub, looks tiny from the outside but it is very big as soon as you go on. Good service. Ok food. We will return one day I'm sure

Went on a day out with a club from our local area and stumbled across this place as we were off for a little jaunt to the shops for a nose and passed this place with a sign outside offering a roast dinner for just under £7, we thought why not as you can't really go wrong with a roast dinner and compared to the price of the rest of the menu it seemed very reasonable! Walked in, friendly girl serving and bought a pint, should have guessed something was not quite right as there were about 4/5 customers in the place. The pint was not too clever which should have really set the bells in my head ringing and nobody else was eating there. Anyway, we both ordered the roast dinner, both of us went for mixed meat(turkey and pork were the offerings). Another very friendly staff member brought out the plated meals about 20 minutes later, quite a while considering the place was almost empty and we were greeted with a plate of very undercooked veg, grey looking meat and a bit of bistro like gravy which was not very plentiful to say the least. Basically, we ended up with leftover meat from Sunday's lunch offerings from 2 days previous, which we understand and how places make up for using excess from days before after working in similar jobs over the years but the cabbage, green beans and cauliflower on the plate with the meat was pretty much still raw! The mash was nice and little stuffing balls, ok but finished with bistro gravy!!!! Really, I'd like to know who was cooking as I think a 5 year old would have done better! And, I really need to trust my judgements more as we should have known that an empty pub in quite a bustling little place should have been a total giveaway to start with! Service was very pleasant and ok but food and beer need to be improved on drastically if this place wants to stay open as there are so many...

We weren't sure what to expect when we decided to visit for Sunday lunch. We popped in about 12.30 to book a table and it was deserted. We did book and turned up at 1, still very quiet. It was a short and basic roasts menu and before 4 of us we ordered it all. I didn't have high expectations but the service was friendly if a bit brusque as they busied up. The food was really really nice. Nothing fancy, just a really nice roast dinner with plenty of gravy. Nicely hot and properly cooked roast potatoes (I am very fussy about these). Dessert was also unfussy and tasty. There was no salt and pepper on the table (but we didn't miss them) and no sauces offered - we did miss those but later saw people coming back to their table with some, I don't know if there was a table with sauces that we didn't know about. A note for people visiting: the food...

Phoned ahead to ask if they did a Sunday carvery which i was told yes. Turned up and asked again if they did carvery and was told yes. Paid for the carvery and was asked which meat we wanted which was odd. Told to sit at any table (I assumed they would bring a ticket over...) but was brought over a very poor quality roast dinner completely drenched in gravy. I couldn't taste any flavours apart from a rather nasty onion gravy. The Yorkshire was rubbery and the veg was mushy. I did appreciate them fitting us in and the service was quick - although this is probably due to it being microwave meal?! The tables and floor were sticky which is never a good sign. Left feeling very disappointed that I chose this place for our...
